CHARACTER
Kiyotaka Ayanokōji (綾あやの小こう路じ 清きよ隆たか, Ayanokōji Kiyotaka) is the main protagonist of the You-Zitsu light novel series. Currently, he is a second-year student at Metropolitan High School for Advanced Education. After the entrance exam in which he scored exactly 50 points in each subject, he was placed in Class 1-D. In the anime adaptation he is located in the back left corner of the class, sitting next to Suzune Horikita.
APPEARANCE
Kiyotaka is a young man of medium height with brown hair, brown eyes, and a light complexion. He is usually seen wearing the standard school uniform. When he is out of school, he wears a white hoodie that covers a green shirt with an orange stripe along with brown pants. He is also seen wearing a blue vest over a white shirt and brown pants.
He is considered very handsome, as mentioned in the light novels, by Kikyō Kushida, who ranked fifth in ikemen among first-year boys. This is somewhat confirmed, as he has attracted the attention of many girls in his class, some of whom are even very popular [1].
He also has an incredibly well-built body which was pointed out by Suzune Horikita in the pool. She noticed the immense muscular structure of his body and his arms, particularly his lower arms, and asked him if he played sports, but he denied it. The reason for this is most likely due to the extensive training he received as a child in the White Room [2]. Most of the time, he is shown to express a carefree and inactive look, suggesting a carefree attitude. This can be interpreted as indifference or relatively passive behavior. It is shown in a memory that even as a child he possessed a similar still expression that he would retain until adolescence.[3]
In contrast to the anime, the light novel depicts (to some extent) Kiyotaka with more dynamic facial expressions.
PERSONALITY
Kiyotaka is an inconspicuous and discreet student, and although his grades are average, he has extreme vision for analyzing the emotions of the people around him.[1]
He is well versed in history, as he has cited many historical figures who are renowned for his intelligence.[4] He tends to come up with clever and imaginative plans, such as using school rules so that he can get old test questions from a previous Class D student by paying him 15,000 points.[5] He also used the rules and the purpose of the points to bribe his teacher to stop Ken Sudō's expulsion.[5] In fact, some hint that he could easily enter a higher class if he applied himself.
He is somewhat socially awkward, as he is very poor at communicating with other people and cannot associate properly with them.[6] As a result, he speaks in a very monotonous manner (in the anime) and tries to isolate himself from his peers, without engaging in social activities. These traits tend to leave others with the impression that he is cunning, indifferent, and uncaring, while also hinting at aloofness, latency, or a sense of apathy toward anything else that specifically concerns him.[1]
However, this is not always the case. He is shown to be able to carry on conversations, although in a somewhat dull and toneless manner, as shown in his interactions with Kushida and his other classmates.[7]
He seems to keep her word, as he promised Airi Sakura that he would come to her aid when she needed him, a promise well kept, since he rescued her from a stalker. Furthermore, he promised Suzune that he would take her to her Class A even though she forced him to help her.
PERSONALITY 2
Kiyotaka put his plan into action by helping Suzune get rid of her cold nature to open up to others and get closer to the class which had partially worked as it helped her gain massive popularity in the survival test. Kiyotaka has expressed intentions of making friends, but his emotionless attitude tends to exempt him from such matters. However, he has formed partnerships with others and seems to leave an impact on them. It was then that he stopped Suzune from being attacked by her brother, even though she had no reason to get involved. It is unknown whether he is going with the flow or genuinely seeking out Suzune, as both patterns are definitely plausible.[8] He seemed to show this caring side again after sacrificing 50,000 of her points so that Ken Sudō would not be expelled after the latter failed the recent exams.[5] He also had no problem referring to himself as a friend of Class B's Honami Ichinose (even though they had just met) when she approached him for help. Although it is unknown whether this was a ploy on her part to calm her down or a genuine show of consideration towards her. Although it seems that his subsequent interactions suggest friendship. When Sakura contacted him for help since she was almost assaulted by a crazed stalker, he quickly went to save her and comforted her after the attack.
PERSONALITY 3
He does not like to draw attention to himself, because after purchasing the answers to the previous tests, he made Kushida take all the credit even though he invested a large amount of money to get them.[5] This was seen again when he gave all the credit to Suzune in stopping Ken's expulsion after failing a test despite it being his plan and Kushida implying it was him.[5] He also allowed Ken to believe that Suzune planned the events that stopped his case after he was accused of injuring three students. At the time he denied his involvement in stopping him several times in the events of Ken's case, even though Honami, Manabu Horikita and Sae Chabashira hinted that he was the orchestrator of saving Ken.[3] It seems that he doesn't like to exhibit his talents, which was the main reason for hiding himself from unwarranted attention. It is unknown why he hides his intellect from him, but it is shown in a flashback that a mysterious man informed him that those who hide his talent from him are fools. From this event, it could be that he does it to show that he can do something without revealing what he is really capable of.[9]
He doesn't seem to want to extend his energy unnecessarily on other matters. This was demonstrated when he refused to be Secretary of the Student Council even though the President of the Student Council directly offered him the position [3].
It seems that part of his distant personality comes from his mysterious past that he doesn't tell people about. He gives vague answers on the matter and shows distaste for people asking about it, apparently getting angry after asking. In his anger, he is more serious in his tone of voice, as shown when he sternly told Suzune not to pry into his personal history.
PERSONALITY 4
In his anger, Kiyotaka may retaliate, as he refused to comply with Chabashira's order to target Class A after stating that he had been asked to expel him at the request of an unknown person, who was later revealed. like his father. During this moment, he stated her aversion to being manipulated, because he even resorted to threatening her and grabbing her by the neck, unafraid that she was a teacher who could have expelled him for assault. Due to his upbringing in the White Room, he tends to see everyone around him as tools and only intends to win. He doesn't mind manipulating others or worrying about sacrificing a pawn, as long as they help him achieve his goal. Due to this way of thinking and his actions, it is unknown if he truly cares for those he has befriended or if he simply gained their trust to use them.
BACKGROUND
Almost everything about his life before the entrance exams is unknown. However, during a flashback, it was shown that Kiyotaka was part of a group of children involved with an unknown organization called the White Room, headed by her father. He seemed to have maintained his stoic expression even as a child, as he showed no emotion and watched as another child, situated to the left of him, had difficulty breathing and probably fainted for unknown reasons.[3] There was also a time when an adult approached him and told him that those who do not reveal his talents are fools [9]. In his time there, Kiyotaka underwent various regiments of training, presumably including martial arts, while taking heavy and challenging written exams that granted him extreme physical abilities and mental prowess. As time passed, more children began to suffer like the previous child, leaving him as the only survivor of the group. His training made him believe that all humans are nothing more than tools and that victory is the only thing that matters in the world. With this point of view, he was determined to win no matter what and sacrifice anything or anyone to achieve his goal of victory.
BACKGROUND 2
At one point, the White Room was temporarily closed for a year. This gave Kiyotaka the opportunity to escape with the help of her butler, Matsuo, who told him to enroll in the Metropolitan High School for Advanced Education, a place that her father would not be able to reach and would allow her to lead a life. normal school. Kiyotaka took the entrance exams to enter high school and scored exactly 50 out of 100 points in each subject. Some people suggested that this act was done on purpose, just to avoid unwanted attention from the school, which Kiyotaka denied, stating that it was merely a coincidence.[8]
In the manga, he stated (in his monologue) that the biggest reason why he chose Metropolitan High School for Advanced Education is because he wants freedom. He also stated in his monologue that while in high school, he was prohibited from associating with friends, or even relatives, who were not appropriate for him.

Kiyotaka's past is very mysterious, although she is shown to be extremely intelligent. Aside from his claims to participate in extracurricular activities such as piano, calligraphy, and tea ceremonies, it is unknown if he actually did any of these things.[8] Currently there is no information about his past before the school entrance examination. It is shown that he was part of an unknown organization in his younger years, although it is unknown how long he was there or how he left it.[3]
While Kiyotaka was trying to make friends, his inexperience in social matters had caused him to miss the opportunity to form a group.[6] While he met Suzune Horikita, she was put off by his aversion to friendship and aloof nature.
PHYSICAL SKILLS
It is presumed that there is more to Kiyotaka than he lets on during his meeting with Manabu Horikita. Although Kiyotaka did not attack, he was able to evade Manabu's attacks with relative ease and managed to deflect a blow to the point where he forced Manabu back. This act was praised by Manabu, who asked what combat arts he practiced, but received a lame answer in return, showing Kiyotaka's excellence in martial arts.
INTELLECTUAL SKILLS
Kiyotaka is shown to be extremely intelligent as he strangely, and intentionally, obtained exactly 50 out of 100 points for each subject in his entrance exams. In the manga, it is hinted that he is even smarter than Suzune, who would later force him to help her reach Class A.[15] He is also a very skilled negotiator, as he was able to secure old test answers from an upper-level student by using Kushida's charm and his own persistence. He also showed this by overturning Ken's expulsion by offering points to his teacher, knowing that he was within the school's rules and with Suzune's help, his plan succeeded.[5]
He is incredibly perceptive, as he is shown to be very precise almost all the time, as he was able to study the exact personalities of others as shown when he deduced Airi's fear of strangers.[4] He picks up on situations very quickly since he deduced that Chihiro Shiranami was Honami's admirer,[7] that Airi was in danger of being attacked by a stalker and saw through Suzune's façade of being healthy and that she was actually sick in the survival test.[16] He also knew that Ryūen was still on the island during the survival test only by seeing a communicator he had and realized that Ibuki was a spy for Class C and taunted her by sabotaging her camera and making sure she stole the card from the leader, before becoming the leader of the class.
INTELLECTUAL SKILLS 2
The best example of his intellect was when he discovered the plan for class 1-A and class 1-C during the same test. He is an expert in the art of manipulation, as shown by knowing which people were scheming and who he could use to turn the game in his favor, eventually winning the test for his class. This incredible act surprised Kōhei Katsuragi and Ryūen, who had a sure way to win the test. Kiyotaka's plan earned him praise from both Suzune and Sae Chabashira, who were surprised by how the test went and questioned why he tries it if he doesn't want to advance.
ACADEMIC SKILLS
Although he prefers not to draw attention to himself and would prefer to remain unnoticed in the background, he possesses outstanding talents in his studies. This was seen when the Student Council President and his head teacher hinted that he intentionally entered Class D to hide his talent. Kiyotaka even turned down an offer to join the student council, just to avoid more work, proving that he is extremely talented in the art of going unnoticed, except for the few who notice his talent. Most notably, Manabu Horikita, Ichinose, Chabashira, Suzune, and Chie Hoshinomiya have hinted that Kiyotaka is clearly the smartest student in his class and could have effortlessly entered the upper classes.[1][3][17][18]
This seemed to be confirmed when Chabashira ordered Kiyotaka to begin reaching class 1-A by threatening him with expulsion, indicating that he could easily achieve it.[10] It has been shown that his intellect even surpassed Katsuragi's mentality and wit, considered the second most intelligent of the year.[11] His actions in the survival test made Suzune Horikita question what drives him, given that he has proven that he is more than qualified to reach Class A. Chabashira was also amazed by his plan, which easily gave the others an advantage. classes, even giving him praise.
In the manga, Sae even hinted that she may be academically smarter than Suzune, which is notable since she is exceptionally excellent at her own studies. Suzune even seemed to agree with Chabashira's statement after watching his entrance exams, questioning if she really had some questions wrong on purpose.
