Dadan

Curly Dadan is a friend of Monkey D. Garp and the adoptive mother of Portgas D. Ace and Monkey D. Luffy. Garp entrusted her with taking care of Ace shortly after the baby was born. Later, Garp also left Luffy in Dadan's care, and a maternal love was born. Dadan lives in Mt. Colubo near Foosha Village. She is the head of the Dadan Family's mountain bandits and a wanted criminal. She was first mentioned in the Post-Enies Lobby Arc, when Woop Slap read about Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates waging war against the World Government.

According to Garp, Dadan was a bandit who committed more crimes in the world than there are stars in the sky.

Shortly after Ace's birth, Dadan was blackmailed by Vice Admiral Garp into taking care of the boy. And later, she is again forced to take care of another child, this time it was Luffy, Garp's grandson. Had she refused Luffy and Ace, she would have been arrested for the crimes she committed in the past, and for that reason, Dadan was constantly under threat from Garp. Initially she hated the idea of ​​caring for the two of them, and during the time she spent with them, she was never happy.

The reasons that led Garp to entrust the two boys to Dadan were, firstly, to protect the true identity of Ace, Gold Roger's son, and secondly, to reformulate the ideas of Luffy, his grandson, who wanted to be the King of the Pirates.
