Noir Sigertem

Noir was the son of one of the bosses of the largest betting house in the port of Avenell. It was the result of a night with a prostitute, but even so, his father took him to work with him when he was barely three years old. He grew up among con artists, gambling tables, dirty deals, and the greed and darkest pleasures of men. He became pragmatic, distrustful, cunning and a liar. Each of his actions had a purpose and he soon became the best businessman and strategist his father had. When he was fifteen, his father died of the plague and left the position to Lucius Griggs, his partner. Griggs continued to employ him as his right-hand man, but made sure to continually remind him that he was nothing more than a bastard child under his command. Even so, Noir's followers grew and he was waiting for nothing more than the right moment to claim his position as legitimate leader.

Noir is a two-facer and a professional liar. He is able to entangle a person with his words and then stab him in the back. He grew up in the worst of environments, so he knows by heart all the vices and weaknesses of men. He knows that information and secrets are the key to destroying his enemies, so he aims to always be informed. He has a photographic memory and a dark charisma that make him the most terrifying threat (even if he is not as big as many Avenell thugs) . He despises brothels because that was where his mother worked and where he was raised during his early life. Although he gives all of his allies a sense of trust, he doesn't really trust anyone and would be willing to sacrifice anyone as pawns on a chessboard. He is a despicable rat, perfectly aware of his own nature and lack of values.

Noir has brown hair with light golden highlights. He inherited his mother's almond eyes and has his father's height and confident bearing. He has several scars on his face from his early fights, but he still retains a dangerous appeal. He usually dresses in formal coats that give him a certain distinguished air in negotiations. He is barely twenty years old, but everything about his appearance makes him seem older. Much of the style of his clothing is so that he is not taken as an innocent youngster.

Jaelyn Faris is a Velemite, hailing from the ancient and almost impenetrable lands of the North. Her father was the official ambassador of the kingdom of Veleria and used to take her on all his trips. Jaelyn was always a rebellious and adventurous girl. Like all of her species, she has a unique connection to nature and the agility of a cat. However, during one of the trips with her father, she strayed too far from the delegation and was captured by slave traders. The Velemites have a unique beauty, so when they arrived at the port of Avenell they soon sold her to one of the select brothels there. That was the greatest humiliation Jaelyn suffered in her life and she swore revenge on everyone who had wronged her before escaping and returning home.

Noir became interested in Jaelyn when he first heard that there was a real Velemite in Avenell Harbor. The skill of her race was legendary, so Noir saw it as an opportunity to get a spy to help him gather secrets. With that idea in mind, he convinced Griggs to make the investment and buy Jaelyn. She sees him as a bastard of the lowest lineage. She owes him for taking her out of the brothel, but she doesn't trust him and is willing to escape at the slightest opportunity.

Lucius Griggs. Noir's boss and a cruel and greedy man. He has current control over the "The Lucky One" gaming house.

Rowan. Noir's henchman specialized in scams. He is cheerful, sarcastic and follows Noir everywhere.

Wen. In charge of serving drinks at the betting house. She is Noir's most skilled informant.

Marshall. The bully and brute force of Noir. He's kind of dumb and clueless, but very loyal.
