Nicola doesn't like Sophie at first, as she writes a scathing review about her crumble of nuts in the Gavaldon newspaper, and after reading 'The Tale of Sophie and Agatha', he thinks that Sophie is a brat. However, once Sophie saves her from the Serpent's trap at Four Point, they are not enemies. In the fifth book there is not much interaction between them. In the sixth book, Nicola is possibly jealous of Sophie because Hort is starting to give Sophie more attention and time.
