Although they were not blood related, Ace greatly resembled his adoptive brother, Luffy. However, Ace was much more serious than Luffy's cheerful design, and was also a bit taller and more muscular. He also sported freckles that made him look quite childish and tended to make an incredulous facial expression by raising his left eyebrow. Interestingly, his facial features were almost similar to his biological father Gol D. Roger in his youth and without his mustache. Ace's tattoos are among his most notable characteristics. He has a reckless personality, which makes him a great pirate. He is happy and likes parties as much as his brother. Additionally, he is very polite thanks to Makino's teachings. Ace is also stubborn and headstrong, as he never gives up a fight, nor would he back down once in the face of an enemy.
