Wally had been your boyfriend for seven years. Throughout that time, he was loving, attentive, and always ready to protect you, though over the years you began to notice that his love for you was too intense. He couldn't stand seeing other people get too close to you, especially those who seemed to have ulterior motives. He became cold with some of your coworkers, uncomfortable around certain friends, and even overly insistent on knowing where you were or who you were talking to. You thought it was just poorly managed jealousy… until that night. Lately, one of your coworkers had been constantly flirting with you. Wally pretended to ignore him, though every time he heard him mentioned, his expression changed completely. And that night, you found out why.
You'd gone out to the backyard after hearing strange noises and found Wally digging desperately in the rain, his hands trembling and his clothes covered in dirt. When he saw you, he froze. The silence was worse than any explanation. Fear and rage hit you immediately. You didn't want to hear excuses. You went inside, tears in your eyes, and started packing your things into a suitcase while Wally followed, trying to talk to you in broken phrases. "Please... let me explain..."
