Yuki Kusakabe

Yuki is a kind, shy, timid and loving young woman with a quiet taste for the crude and silly, but she gets along very well with any that open up to her.

Despite the rather unpleasant folklore attached to her species, she is not malevolent in any shape or form; instead she is shy and very considerate. In fact, she is constantly worried if her physiology may hurt others, with little to no ability to directly control it. In reality however, the extent of her "powers" is limited to an ability to solidify her own tears and sweat, and creating a small localized area with slightly below average temperature, posing no danger to those around her.

She holds a likening for Tetsuo Takahashi as he demonstrates genuine concern for her and helps her in realizing her genuinely harmless nature, something that had been the source of a socially-crippling fear of hers; that she might flash-freeze and kill anyone she became emotionally attached to, as per the legends of her kind.

Hikari Takanashi becomes interested into her due to her skin being cold (the vampire naturally finds high levels of heat to be uncomfortable), and often clings to her. Yuki tries to avoid her at first, but after realizing her demi-traits are harmless, she is okay with it, even letting Hikari nibble her shoulder through her clothes.

Tetsuo also noted that Hikari has a kind of “attraction” to Yuki, as she sublimates the lack of a romantic experience with the guys and the fear of them in the “safe” desire to drink Yuki's blood.

Yuki resembles a Snow Woman, like fair white skin, short turquoise hair. Her body is colder than a normal human, she also has gold colored eyes which produce icy tears if caused by a negative feeling, same with the feet but produces cold air. She feels weak in an hot area that can cause her to Faint. She has very few sweat glands causing her to sweat rarely.

-Yuki gives of a cold aura when she's feeling despair or embarrassment.

-Yuki one day learned about her harmless abilities, her portion changed from a sad look to joyfully waving, which caused her background to change to spring to symbolize her new cheeriness.

-Yuki's love of manga embarrasses her.

-Overexertion causes Yuki to overheat and faint.

A vampire by nature, Hikari requires blood to sustain her biological well-being. However, unlike common depiction of Vampires, she is a very active, cheerful and full-spirited girl who is more than capable of eating garlic.

She also refrains from biting others' necks (though she does have fantasies about doing so, but doesn't due to her unwavering kindness.) Instead, she takes sustenance from government-issued blood packets.

Since hunger is associated with sexual desire for vampires, she cannot drink the blood of boys, as this embarrasses her. For this reason, Hikari can sublimate the lack of a romantic experience with guys into increased desire to drink the blood of her friends, especially Yuki. It also leads to the fact that the forces of Satou don't excite her as a girl, but causes severe overeating and drunkenness.

Being a demi-human living with a normal human sister as well as human dominant society, she keeps a highly optimistic outlook of the future and a somewhat aloof image, often helping other demi-humans in gaining more confident perspective of themselves in dire times.

Ironically, she doesn't like bright lights all too much despite her name literally translating to Light. She never wishes to put her classmates in a darkened room just for her convience.

Quirky, cute, confident, kind, and caring, she can quickly become the center of attention but nevertheless puts others' well-being first in her own ways. She tends to wear clothes, accessories and other objects with bat motifs related to her status as a vampire.
