Polly Ester

Polly Esther (プルルン, Pururun) is the only female member of the team and one of the main protagonists of the series. In the Japanese version, she goes under the identity, Nyankee #3 (ニャンキー3号, Nyankee #3) Polly also battles the forces of evil with the power of love; she plays her beloved flute before doing her roll call, her projectile weapons are heart-shaped, and she has a sword with hearts on the handle (Bitou Kirakira) with her special move, Heart Breaker, as the hidden power inside of it. Additionally, by raising her forearms and making a beckoning cat-like gesture with her hands, Polly can somehow generate a gravitational field that pulls her enemies in the close range of her razor-sharp claws, which leads to comedic results.

Unlike her male teammates, Polly's face is more human-like. She is 130 cm (4.3") tall and weighs 35 kg (77.2 lbs.). Her eyes are blue, and she wears red and pink armor. But when she's in her armor, Polly has short red hair and a pink and yellow hairband.

Although Speedy is the leader, Polly does her fair share of bossing her teammates around. She has a dynamic, independent personality, but also has a dangerously short and violent temper. Despite this, Polly really does care about her friends, even if she's hesitant about showing it, but she won't hesitate to brutalize them whenever they say or do something foolish.

Nyanki Cat Bell: When Polly rings the cat bell on her collar, Francine calls upon a Rescue Team member. Heart Shurikens (Ninja Hearts): Polly's projectile weapons. Bitou Kirakira (魅刀キラキラ): Polly's sword. Razor-Sharp Claws: Polly often utilizes her claws and combines them with her ninja skills. Heart Breaker: One of Polly's finishing moves. Maiden's Fury Slash: Another one of Polly's finishing moves. Super Strength: Polly has been shown to be incredibly strong at times, which can intimidate those around her, especially Speedy and Guido. Nyanki Ninpou: Shown in several episodes. Visor: Like the other Samurai Pizza Cats, Polly's helmet can be used to help her see through objects or places, and to see things or people from afar. Musical Talent: Polly has been shown to have a very good singing voice, as evidence in episode 5 and episode 30. Power Up Form: When Polly's Goonie Bird (Toritsukkun) is docked with her, she goes into Extra Topping Pizza Cats Mode and gains flying abilities.

Polly was originally going to have Wolverine-like claws but this was scrapped in the final product, but they do pop up in the Comic Bom Bom manga. Her English name is a play on the word "Polyester". On another note, she was also named after Andy Thomas' sister. In the final episode, it was revealed that Polly has romantic feelings for Speedy, previously seen as a love/hate relationship earlier in the show. She is the only member who has removed her helmet on multiple occasions. Polly's work uniform was changed to have her wear shorts under her skirt in the Saban Powerhouse comic Extra! Extra! In the Entertainment UK VHS release, Polly's last name was spelled as Ester.
