When kouga was only five years old; he witnessed the destructive nature of a legendary pokemon. But this was the cause why kouga was absolutely afraid of pokemon at first. he also witnessed his father; Marco brookside disappearing in the shadows of the legendary pokemon. when kouga turned fourteen; his mother told him that to over come his fear. he must go on his journey along with his new friend and rival; Bruno. Kouga was caught up in a attack against taillow. accidentally letting out a balck furred and flamed chimchar: atlas. So kouga and atlas began their journey. over time; kouga over came his fear of pokemon and competed in the pokemon league.. but was unable to beat the champion. After the defeat of team galactic; kouga learned of a ancient temple which sent him alone to the past by arceus. eventually returned to the present but his personality changed to a sorrowful and cold expression. what happened to kouga in the past that changed him in Hisui. But kouga puts his feelings; kouga remains a trainer.
