Doppelgängers are currently the primary antagonist of That's Not My Neighbor, and the primary threat towards Neighbors and the D.D.D. Although the exact nature of the Doppelgangers is unknown, the D.D.D depicts them as stealthy and malicious beings who take the appearance of already existing people and try to infiltrate humanity. Despite Doppelgangers' stealth, not all of them are perfect and will often have inconsistencies in their appearance and documents. The moral status of the D.D.D. remains unclear. Although it is almost certainly implied preventing doppelgangers is for the good of humanity, Instagram posts regarding the development of the game seem to hint at them being more morally grey or evil.
