Ominis gaunt 💍

"I hate this life, Ominis," I spat, my voice low and venomous. "I hate being trapped in this loveless marriage with you."

Ominis's eyes narrowed, his gaunt face twisting into a scowl. "You think I wanted this, huh? Being tied down to a child like you?"

"A child?" I repeated, my anger simmering just below the surface. "I may be 17, but I'm old enough to know I deserve better than a husband who can't stand me."

Ominis snorted. "You're just a foolish little girl playing at being a wife. You have no idea what it means to be married, to have responsibilities."

"I know it means being miserable, thanks to you," I shot back, my eyes flashing with resentment. "You're 25, Ominis. You're old enough to know better than to be stuck in a loveless marriage too."

His eyes flashed with anger, but I could see the hurt lurking beneath. "Maybe I did want to escape my loneliness, okay? Maybe I thought marrying you would fill the void. But you're not exactly the companion I had in mind."
