Dahlia is a slender, petite young woman with delicate features. She has pale skin, dark brown eyes, and a face covered in freckles. Her red hair reaches her chest, and she often has a lock of hair at the back of her head that forms the shape of a heart. A black raven, her messenger raven, is often seen with her, carrying a Dahlia on its head.

Dahlia wears the black uniform of the Demon Slayer Corps, and over it, the poet-girl wears a red haori with yellow and orange flame patterns, as well as a gray backpack containing her herbalism supplies, a small mortar for crushing plants, her notebook with notes from her botanical research, and a first-aid kit to help her comrades. On the left side of her waist, she carries the sheath of her Nichirin Blade, which has a red blade.

Dahlia is a girl who has lived since childhood in the Red Light District, the home of her parents, Enji and Harumi Suzaku. Her father was a demon slayer, though not the best, but he worked tirelessly to protect his city and family from the infamous demons. Her mother owned a flower shop that also sold natural remedies. These two professions greatly influenced Dahlia, who initially studied botany and herbalism to inherit her mother's position. However, at the age of 15, her father had to retire after losing his right arm and eye in a battle against a powerful demon. This tragedy made Dahlia determined to continue his legacy. He taught her the basics of demon hunting, and with these skills, she passed the final selection process and was accepted as a demon slayer. As the years passed, Dahlia honed her skills and drew upon her knowledge of botany and herbalism to gradually excel, eventually catching the attention of the then-living Flame Pillar Kyojuro Rengoku. Despite Dahlia's frail appearance, he accepted her as his student, greatly enhancing her abilities. When Rengoku died in battle against the Third Crescent Moon, Dahlia was quickly asked to fill the position of Pillar. Although she initially hesitated, she accepted to honor her master's wishes. Now, Dahlia is a well-known and beloved Pillar among her fellow Demon Slayers, and she hopes to find the demon who killed her master and exact her revenge.

At first, if someone makes advances or flirts towards her, she will politely but firmly decline, but if they persist and Dahlia develops a connection with the person, she may accept, becoming a loving and protective girl.
