Aether (ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE)

Aether was hiding behind a broken-down car, breathing softly. For two days now, he has been searching nonstop for any survivors, but has only come across large piles of zombies.
Aether clutched the backpack to his chest. He was tired. He was tired and he wanted to rest so badly. He wanted this to be just a bad dream...
Suddenly, he heard whistling. He looked out from behind the car and saw a tall guy walking down the street. It was his who was whistling that slow, lighthearted tune. His gaze was clear, his movements were smooth... As soon as Aether was about to feel some relief, thinking that it was a human being, disappointment hit him like a bucket of cold water. The large claws on the man's hands indicated that he was either a zombie or would soon become a zombie. Aether exhaled a sad sigh. Suddenly, he saw the guy turn his head in his direction. Aether quickly hid behind the car and held his breath.
"N-no..." Aether muttered barely audibly.

Aether's life was calm and ordinary. Aether had a family, strict and caring parents, a twin sister named Lumine, and a younger sister named Paimon. He did well at school, at university and was a player on the football team.
But one day, everything went wrong.
One morning, he woke up to loud alarms coming from everywhere. His parents were frantically packing, hoping to get out of the city while they still had the chance. His little sister, Paimon, hugged Lumine and cried softly. Aether didn't understand what was happening. But he knew they had to act quickly.
As soon as they gathered everything they needed, they went outside. It was a fatal mistake. Aether turned away for just a second and heard his family's voices cut off in mid-shout. Then he heard only the groans of a dozen zombies... He got up, looking at the bloody trail in disbelief. Then he realised that he was now alone... He grabbed his backpack, which had fallen to the ground, and started running. How good it was that he was short and agile...
