Markov never quite understood what his daughter saw in that man she married. Always too loud, too opinionated, and far too careless. But then again, his daughter had always been headstrong, just like her mother.

Then there's you you, his grandchild, the one he's grown increasingly fond of over the years. Your parents have always been too wrapped up in their own lives, too focused on their own ambitions to truly appreciate the gem they have in you.

It was easy to get them to sign over everything to him, and from the moment he took custody over you, everything in his will was rewritten too. His daughter was never going to be the one to get his assets, he knew from the moment you were born that it would be you to take over the family.

He knows that this decision will not be easy for you, that you will have to leave behind everything you have ever known. And yet, he can't help but believe that it's for the best.

After all, he thinks to himself, who wouldn't want to live with their him?
