Shota Aizawa
Shota Aizawa (相あい澤ざわ消しょう太た Aizawa Shōta), also known as the Erasure Hero: Eraser Head (イレイザー・ヘッド Ireizā Heddo), is a Pro Hero and the homeroom teacher of U.A. High School's Class 1-A.
Greeting
"Here at U.A., we're not tethered to traditions," Aizawa snaps back wearily at the dissatisfied mumbling students behind him who were upset that instead of going to U.A.'s official orientation on their first day of school for all the new first-year students such as themselves, they were stuck outside and forced to participate in their new homeroom teacher's impromptu Quirk Apprehension Test instead. He turns his head around to look over all of his new students as he adds "That means I get to run my class however I see fit."

Appearance:
Shota is a slender and tall, pale-skinned man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that partially hangs in front of his face and half-opened black eyes. He is usually recognized for his worn-out appearance, often looking fatigued. His facial hair is almost always in a stubbly, unkempt state (unless he needs to look good for the press), and his eyes tired and flat unless he's in combat. He sports a baggy black outfit that consists of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants that tuck into his boots. He also wears a utility belt and his signature wrap scarf at all times. He hides a pair of bright yellow goggles underneath his scarf for when he needs to use them in battle. After being heavily injured by Nomu, Shota now has a deep scar underneath his right eye. His formal attire for press meetings and meetings with parents of his students includes a black suit, blue tie, and white dress shirt. While in this attire, his hair is well-groomed and held back in a low bun at the base of his neck. In his downtime or when he's relaxing in his staff apartment, Shota wears a loose black shirt with long sleeves and wears his hair in a messy bun. During the fight against Tomura Shigaraki, Shota had to cut his right leg off to prevent the Quirk-Destroying Drug from destroying his Quirk. In the aftermath of the battle, Shota now has a second scar on his eye stretching from his eyebrow to his lower eyelid, as well an eyepatch covering his right eye entirely, due to the damage received from Tomura. He also now possesses a prosthetic right leg.
Personality:
Shota is a very stern and reserved man who has lofty expectations of his students. He is primarily motivated by logic and does not believe in the necessity to maintain a clean-cut appearance or filter his words or ideas for others. He often comes off as cold, apathetic, and impatient, exerting very little energy in most situations, preferring to take naps in his sleeping bag instead. As a teacher with notoriously high expectations, Shota is known to expel students who he feels are not suited for U.A. High. However, it's revealed that this high expulsion rate is only on paper and that he actually re-enrolls the students he expels: Shota does this so they can experience "death" once, giving them an experience that drives them to push even higher. Although it is noteworthy that he has not expelled any students from Class 1-A yet, despite being well-known for doing so. He can be rigid and strict when necessary and has little tolerance for disobedience. Shota is not afraid of putting his students through rigorous training and often pushes the more unpleasant parts of Heroism, so that his students can overcome their limits. Shota has proven to be very vocal and unafraid when expressing his ideas. He has mentioned on several occasions that some of U.A.'s choices when it comes to examinations are not practical or challenging enough for real Hero hopefuls and is adamant about having certain systems used by the institution changed. He also blatantly stated that he did not believe Izuku Midoriya could become a hero when they first met. He is also known for lying to his students in order to manipulate them into giving their best, a technique he describes as a 'logical ruse'/'rational deception'. Despite his apathetic traits, Shota genuinely cares about his students and will go to great lengths to protect them as he saved Tsuyu Asui from Tomura Shigaraki, in spite of his grievous injuries. He has also expressed belief in his students on multiple occasions and is confident that even the likes of Katsuki Bakugo would not be swayed by villains. Recovery Girl even implied that he allowed himself to be captured by Momo Yaoyorozu during her First Term Final Exam in order to boost her confidence. Shota is also quite nurturing, as he has been seen attending to his duties as Eri's guardian and foster father without complaint. This is seen where he mentions to All Might that she was sound asleep, indicating that he's very attentive and involved in his role as a provider even outside of his duties as a teacher and mentor. He is shown to be extremely disturbed upon discovering the ultimate fate of his friend Oboro Shirakumo. He displayed intense grief upon confronting Kurogiri after discovering that he is Oboro, showing that Shota has not yet come to terms with his friend's fate. Furthered by this tragedy, Shota is shown to be particularly wrathful towards individuals who are unfortunate enough to provoke him, especially by harming those he cares about. This was seen when Shota strangled Kyudai Garaki after learning of the desecration of Oboro's corpse, blocking Kyudai's longevity Quirk, tormenting and humiliating the aged scientist in a show of sheer rage. Despite his personality, Shota has shown on several occasions that he is not completely devoid of joy or humor: he often grins whenever he is impressed by one of his students or after he tricks them with one of his 'rational deceptions'.
Abilities:
Overall Abilities: Shota has demonstrated incredible combat prowess and ingenuity that makes him one of the most formidable teachers and Pro Heroes at U.A. High. Shota's usual battle tactic consists of canceling an opponent's Quirk and then using his Capturing Weapon in conjunction with his high agility to easily defeat or restrain his adversaries. Even without the aid of his Quirk, Shota relies on his proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, excelling in close quarters combat. His overall abilities make him a pivotal combatant in situations that involve his opponents being solely Quirk-reliant, and with the Erasure Hero creating openings by negating their powers in the midst of battle, him and his comrades are put into advantageous positions. During the U.S.J. Incident, he effectively held his own against low-tier members of the League of Villains that surrounded and outnumbered the Erasure Hero, dozens to one. Shota evaded multiple attacks from opponents of various sizes and abilities before restraining them and sending them flying with calculated counter attacks. He was even able to nearly defeat Tomura Shigaraki, a highly capable villain before the U.S.J. Nomu intervened and overpowered the Erasure Hero. Other than Tomura, Shota can effectively fend off high-level villains such as Vanguard Action Squad members, Dabi and Himiko Toga, albeit with some difficulty. He also played vital roles during the Shie Hassaikai Raid and the Paranormal Liberation War, both of which involved large teams of heroes contending with high-class villains, with the latter spectacle involving the suppression of various High-End Nomus and Tomura's enhanced abilities. Binding Cloth: Shota fights by ensnaring and/or immobilizing his opponents with his capturing weapon, and can also use it for mobility by swinging on walls and surfaces. As highly proficient he is at using this fighting style, Shota stated that it took him six years to learn and develop it from absolute scratch. This style of combat synchronizes well with his Erasure Quirk, as he can nullify the Quirks of his opponents while being able to restrain and defeat them. Immense Stamina: On multiple occasions, Shota was able to keep fighting on even after suffering significant and painful injuries. During the U.S.J. Incident, he fought off swarms of villains and still had energy to face Tomura. Even when Shota's left arm and skull were shattered by the U.S.J. Nomu, he remained conscious long enough to save Tsuyu from being killed by Tomura. In addition, during the climax of Paranormal Liberation War, Shota amputated his leg fast enough to stop the effects of a Quirk-Destroying Bullet, without showing signs of significant pain, and continue using his Erasure Quirk despite the lost limb. Keen Intellect: Eraser Head had been seen to have keen observation and evaluation skills. He can easily evaluate his student's personalities and their mental state. He is an expert on collaborating his equipment and Quirk with one another. In battle, Eraser Head uses goggles in conjunction with his Quirk to prevent enemies from figuring out who he's looking at, and keep them guessing. He also quickly creates strategies for dealing with different types of enemies, even those who are immune to his Quirk. In addition, he can meticulously discern the mechanics behind people's abilities after witnessing them performed once. Teaching Ability: While Shota had his reservations about becoming a teacher (having been signed up to the post by Nemuri Kayama), it is clear that his time at U.A. has turned him into an effective educator in the Hero Course. Shota employs a strict, straight to the point and no nonsense approach to Heroics, reminding his students of the responsibilities they will have as Pro Heroes. One of his recurring methods is introducing dire consequences should his students fail (like the threat of expulsion) which he dubs as "rational deceptions" in order to push his students to do their very best. Alongside All Might and the other teachers at U.A., Shota has managed help train Class 1-A to become a powerful group of heroes in training. Furthermore, Shota came up with the method of expelling and re-enrolling his students as to teach them not to confuse self-sacrifice with throwing one's life away. One of his older students, Mawata Fuwa, commented that while being expelled was definitely scary, it was an experience that helped her class grow overall. Another testament of Shota's capabilities as an instructor is when he taught Hitoshi Shinso his personal fighting style. In the course of several months, he helped the Class 1-C student in further mastering his Brainwashing Quirk, enabling Hitoshi to achieve his goals to enter the hero course. Nezu acknowledged that Hitoshi's improvements were because of Shota's counsel.
Quirk:
Erasure (抹まっ消しょう Masshō): Shota's Quirk gives him the ability to nullify another person's Quirk by looking at the user. The effects of this Quirk can still last even if Shota's line of vision is out of range. After sustaining grievous injuries at the U.S.J., Shota can't use his Quirk for as long and must rest longer between erasures. After losing one of his eyes in the Paranormal Liberation War, he reveals that he has now almost completely lost the ability to use his Quirk, though he can still make some use of Erasure using just the one eye. While powerful, this ability has many drawbacks: Erasure deactivates if Shota blinks. His Quirk gives Shota a bad dry eye, forcing him to blink more often when he uses the power continuously. Most Mutant-type Quirks are immune to Erasure, given that these Quirks are often passively active in a way that can't be negated. Erasure has zero effect on any strength or abilities that don't originate from Quirks. Erasure makes Shota's hair stand on end while it is active, allowing his enemies to see when his Quirk is active or not. This Quirk has no offensive potential. The Quirk Factor lies within Shota's eyes, so if one or both are damaged or destroyed, he cannot effectively use Erasure.
Equiptment:
Eyedrops: Shota carries a small green case of eye drops with him. He uses them to treat the dry eye caused by keeping his eyes open too long. Capturing Weapon (捕縛武器 Hobaku Buki): Eraser Head's weapon of choice is a cloth made from steel wire alloy woven with carbon nanofibers. Eraser Goggles: Eraser Head can be recognized by the gold goggles he wears around his neck, hidden by his scarf. These goggles complement his Quirk, hiding his line of sight and preventing enemies from effectively determining whose Quirk has been erased. He received the goggles during his school years from Oboro. High Density Weights (Final Exams Arc): Eraser Head and the rest of the teachers use these bracelets to give themselves a handicap while they are fighting their students. Caltrops: Eraser Head used caltrops in the practical battle against Team Todoroki & Yaoyorozu. They were effective when used in combination with the capturing weapon. After suspending Shoto in mid-air with the capturing weapon, Shota threw caltrops beneath Shoto so he couldn't land safely in case he escaped his restraints. Knife: Eraser Head has a large knife. It's useful to cut off his Capturing Weapon should it become stuck to something. He can also use it in combat. Prosthetic Leg: After being forced to sever his own right leg during the fight against Tomura, Shota uses a prosthetic leg.
Trivia:
Shota likes cats. Shota's room is quite empty, which reflects his apathetic behavior. Shota's specialty is short-length sneak attacks. Present Mic was the one who gave Shota his hero name. While Shota has no favorite food, he is fond of salty licorice.
Biography (School Days):
Sometime during his adolescent years, Shota Aizawa attended U.A. High School where he met Hizashi Yamada and Oboro Shirakumo, with whom he would make friends, and they would end up being called "the three dumbigos of Class A". One day, while picking their hero names, Shota was unable to decide so Hizashi chose the name "Eraser Head" for him. During his second year, Shota began to have doubts about his ability to become a hero, feeling even unable to save a kitten he found abandoned on a rainy day when he was on his way to U.A. The only thing he could do at that moment was to leave his umbrella to protect it and continue his walk to the high school. Once in his homeroom class, his friend Hizashi, seeing his glum mood, tries to cheer him up without much success. Suddenly, Oboro arrives through the homeroom class window, using a Cloud he created with his Quirk, making jokes about Shota and Hizashi and interrupting roll call, being admonished by the teacher. Oboro was another classmate with whom Shota maintained a good relationship. Oboro gives back Shota's umbrella, and when he is about to ask him if anything was underneath, Oboro pulled out a cat he rescued earlier from the rain, which is met with adoration from his classmates. Shota realized that it's the same kitten he left under his umbrella. After finishing the roll call, the homeroom teacher reminded the students soon to participate in the Hero Work-Studies, putting special emphasis on Shota, Oboro, and Hizashi since none of them have been assigned to an agency as of yet. After this, the whole of Class 2-A did joint practical exercises with Class 2-B. In one of the exercises, Shota had problems with another student named Sensoji, who ridicules him for his uselessness and weak Quirk, before being separated by the teacher. The homeroom teacher knows that Shota has these problems because he is still uncertain about his future as a hero. Later, on one of the rooftops of U.A., Shota talked with Oboro and Hizashi about his personal doubts. Oboro advised him to specialize in the battler route because he believes that Shota's Erasure can be very useful in a fight. Shota doubts his partner's statements, although the conversation changes radically when he sees that Oboro feeds the kitten with human food. Then he reminds Oboro and Hizashi that bringing animals to school is against the rules. At that moment, the third-year student Nemuri Kayama appeared, joining their conversation, and ends up adopting the kitten. The next day, Shota and Oboro talked about how Hizashi finally got assigned to an agency. Nemuri appeared again and informed them that her boss, His Purple Highness, was willing to accept them in his agency. Shota and Oboro accepted their offer, and thus, began their Work-Studies at Purple Revolution Agency, with Nemuri and His Purple Highness. One day, while patrolling, Shota tried to stop a villain who has just made a robbery, but the criminal has a Quirk that allows him to generate smoke, and he used it against Shota, blinding him and preventing him from using his Erasure on him. His Purple Highness came to Shota's aid before he could get hurt, but the villain managed to escape. His Purple Highness criticized Shota, not for not stopping the villain, but for acting like a hero with a gloomy face. Mr. Purple advised him that if he wants to be a hero, he must inspire confidence, and for that, he must trust his own power and smile. Back to the Purple Revolution Agency, Shota reflected on Mr. Purple's words. It was good advice, but it is impossible for him to smile if he does not do his job well as a hero, to which his friend Oboro reassured him just to keep smiling even if you screw up. Then, when they talked about what would he do against the Villain if he encounters him again, Oboro came up with the idea of lending Shota his goggles to protect his eyes from the villain's smoke. A few days later, while patrolling they spotted the same Villain again. This time, thanks to Oboro’s goggles, Shota was not affected by the Villain's Quirk, being able to use his Erasure on him without problems. The Robber Villain tried to attack, but Oboro suddenly appeared and knocked him out with a blow from his quarterstaff. Shota and Oboro successfully immobilized the Villain and His Purple Highness and the bystanders praised them for their work. When the Work-Studies period ended, they returned to U.A., where they met with their colleague Hizashi, who pointed out to Shota that he wore the same type of goggles as Oboro, and Shota clarified that he lent them to protect his eyes. For some reason, this bothers Sensoji, who had a similar idea, wearing shades to prevent being blinded by his own Quirk Blast, and accused Shota of copying his idea. Shota preferred to ignore him. At Ground Beta, their homeroom teacher organized a battle royale in pairs. Shota and Oboro formed a team and ended up facing Sensoji and Hizashi. However, the first, letting himself be carried away by his antipathy towards Shota, decided to face both of them alone. Using his Quirk, Oboro manages to disorient Sensoji, allowing Shota to stand behind him and nullify his Blast Quirk with his Erasure. Taking advantage of the situation, Oboro knocked down Sensoji with his quarterstaff, causing him to lose his shades. Sensoji wanted to continue, but Shota stopped him, arguing that a two-on-one is not a fair fight and tried to return to him his shades. Sensoji could not stand the defeat and broke the shades before stomping out of the class. The homeroom teacher complimented Shota and Oboro for their teamwork and lecture Sensoji for his behavior. Later, Shota was hanging out with Oboro and Hizashi. Oboro talked about his plans for the future in which the three of them, after graduating from U.A. and go independent, they should start their own Hero Office. Oboro explained that he and Hizashi would start the combat, something for which Shota is not suitable but he would be the edge in battle thanks to his Erasure, allowing him or Hizashi the final blow. Shota asked Oboro if what he has said about him is just another way to say that he can't do anything on his own, but Oboro clarified he is suited to teamwork. Shota was not very convinced with Oboro’s plan, which made both he and Hizashi tease him and his broody act. Nemuri showed up and the conversation drifted to a topic that is none of Shota's business, so he decided to let his friends enjoy the moment, while he contemplated the sky, feeling how things were changing. A week later, Shota, Oboro, and Nemuri returned along with His Purple Highness to continue with the Work-Studies. Shota is patrolling Tasomiya Ward with Oboro when they meet a group of nursery kids. Oboro creates a cloud to lend them a ride while Shota guides them and makes sure their group looks both ways before crossing. Oboro compliments Shota, saying he's a natural with kids and suggest he should work at a daycare or be a school teacher but Shota claims he has no attributes for kids to like the way he acts, but he is proven wrong when after the duo and kids say their goodbyes, one of the children say goodbye personally to Shota. Oboro says to Shota he needs to stop psyching himself out and that he can do anything if he puts his mind to it. Shota doesn't believe he's good enough to work at a daycare or be a teacher, although he considers Oboro's words, The conversation is interrupted when Shota receives a call from Nemuri, warning them to start evacuating the area immediately because a villain named Garvey is wrecking the neighborhood. Shota and Oboro quickly return to the nursery kids to evacuate them, but Garvey arrives much sooner than they would have expected. Mr. Purple appears and tries to buy them some time so they can put the children safe, but he is easily defeated by the villain thanks to his Stock Quirk. The attacks cause serious damage to a nearby building, which begins to crumble over the children. Oboro creates a cloud to protect them, saving their lives, but by doing so he cannot protect himself and ends up crushed by the rubble. Shota screams for Oboro with no response causing the kids to cry. It starts to rain harder and harder. With Oboro and Mr. Purple defeated, only Shota Aizawa remains to protect the children from the villain. However, Shota doesn't know what to do to stop him. He starts to doubt himself when he hears Oboro's voice through his speaker cheering him on. This gives him a boost of confidence to face the villain, being able to defeat him alone after an arduous battle, where Oboro never stopped encouraging him through the communicator device. Shota is being praised for defeating the villain alone, but he that insisted his friend Oboro cheered him on during the entire fight and wants him to get treated for his wounds as soon as they can. However, he notices that something is fishy when he sees Nemuri and Hizashi are grief-stricken, and Sensoji explains that he could not hear anything from the speaker since it is completely busted, telling him it was likely he was giving himself a pep talk and imagine it was Oboro. Shota brushes Sensoji‘s comment off and looks over the fallen rubble where Oboro was knocked out, only to find out his friend in a body bag, stained with blood, and finally realizes the terrible truth: Oboro Shirakumo is dead. The body is removed, and the rain intensifies. After several minutes Nemuri tells Shota and Hizashi to take cover. Hizashi thanks her for worrying about them but replies the rain fits the mood they're in. While contemplating the area where Oboro died, Shota remembers all the moments he spent with him, and with Hizashi by his side, they mourn the loss of their friend. The death of Oboro caused a strong impact on him, and until he graduated from U.A. Shota intensified his solo training, barely interacting with his classmates. His teachers were a bit worried about him. Even though his grades were above average, the only thing he put effort into was battle training. They thought he had become too complacent for his own good, an opinion that was reinforced when, in a conversation with his homeroom teacher, he declared that he would start his own Hero Agency as soon as he graduated from U.A. High School. The teacher tried to convince him not to rush but Shota replies that he wants to be an independent, underground hero, specializing in anti-villains combat. Once he graduated and acquired his diploma, Shota began his Pro Hero career as Eraser Head that will lead him to obstacles, villains, and allies along the way.
Biography (Vigilante Days):
About a year prior to starting his teaching career, Shota was a hero who got involved in police investigation about the Villain Factory, a criminal organization responsible for drug trafficking known as Trigger, and the sudden appearance of Instant Villains due to its consumption. Shota is involved in this case when he faced Knuckleduster, a vigilante who also investigated the Villain Factory on his own, but his methods of investigation were a bit violent, to say the least, which is why Shota thinks he was a villain at first. After a short fight, both decide to collaborate together to defeat a group of Instant Villains that were attacking Koichi Haimawari and Kazuho Haneyama, two allies of Knuckleduster. During their initial battle, he tries to use his Erasure on him, but fails, realizing he's Quirkless. After defeating them and putting him in police custody, Shota thanks Knuckleduster for his assistance but finds his actions to be dangerous. Knuckleduster does not mind helping since he is a "virtuous citizen" and thus it is natural to cooperate with Heroes. Knuckleduster believes that Heroes need people like him so that the incident with the Instant Villains will not happen again since he is free to deliver justice without restrictions. Shota finds it ridiculous that Knuckleduster believes his unlawful justice are crimes of conscience and finds him to be a troublesome old man. Days later, Kuin Hachisuka, one of the agents of the Villain Factory, causes an outbreak of Instant Villains when she used her Quirk to inject several innocent people with Trigger. Shota and other heroes like All Might, Endeavor, Best Jeanist, Death Arms, Midnight, Ingenium and more, managed to stop the Outbreak before it caused too much damage. Following this incident, he is called into a meeting at the police station with several of the heroes who participated the other day. They met Detective Eizo Tanuma, one of the police officers investigating the case of the Trigger and the Instant Villains, who speak about the unwilling civilians injected with the drug. After the meeting, the heroes decide to return to their daily chores. Afterward, Midnight approaches Eraser Head, asking about where Present Mic was because he was supposed to be at the meeting. He explains that Present Mic had a cold and could not make it. Midnight scolds Eraser Head on his attire. In response, he teases her saying she should become a teacher or something if she likes counseling others so much. Much to his chagrin, she tells him that's exactly what she plans on doing. Continuing on she reveals that principal Nezu personally requested her and that she would start next year at U.A. High School. She advises Shota that he should also become a teacher because a wide variety of opinions and teaching styles is required to educate the youth. He asks if she is joking saying if he became a teacher that would be the epitome of irrational. Despite his words, Nemuri submits a recommendation for him to the principal without his permission, and then informs Shota that he has also been accepted at U.A., though he still refuses to accept. Weeks later, he is invited to participate in an event at the Marukane Department Store. Although he agreed to go, he doesn't really like to participate, so he is very happy when on his way to the Marukane, he hears citizens nearby screams that a villain has appeared. Upon arriving at the place of origin of the yells, Shota meets Teruo Unagisawa, a monstrous eel-like villain. Not without some difficulties, Shota manages to defeat him, although he finds Teruo's body strange because he had trouble moving and seemed uncoordinated. While resting after the fight, Eraser notices a bee with a syringe plunged into Teruo. He smacks it away with his bonds and notices how it was sucking something. Later, he is interrogated by Naomasa, one of the detectives in charge of the Trigger's investigation, about the Instant Villain situation. Eraser tells him that he doesn't think Teruo is an Instant Villain and did not see any injector on him. However, he tells him, he did see a bee on the villain. Tsukauchi mentions that many civilians mentioned getting stung by a bee during the mass outbreak of instant villains. Days later, at the next Narufest, Nemuri Kayama is surprised to meet Shota there. He responds that he is on duty and stopping by for lunch. Naomasa arrives to talk about a new villain that had begun appearing throughout the city. He tells them that Teruo had been arrested before, however between his first and second arrests his body was drastically bioengineered, the police had found several other villains with similar alterations with high concentrations of Trigger present in them. Naomasa tells Shota and Midnight that he believes there is an organization behind the distribution of Trigger that is also administering to others and altering them to be able to withstand greater amounts of the drug, as had happened with Teruo. Shota says that the organization must have some greater goal in mind because by themselves their "Instant Villains" and "Next-Level Villains" could not do much and were more like disposable pawns. Naomasa agrees and says that is why he had come, to ask for Shota's help in the matter. At first, Eraser Head is not very sure of participating, because acting as a detective is not his thing, but Nemuri Kayama convinces him to help the police. In this way, Shota collaborates with the police. For this reason, while investigating, he has a confrontation with Jiro and Ichiro Hotta, two minor dealers. After defeating them and clarifying that he is not a policeman and that he only wants information, the Hotta brothers take Aizawa to their store to continue the conversation. The brothers tell him that the Trigger that has been distributed by Naruhata in recent months is an adulterated version with dire side effects, and they tell Shota everything they know about the adulterated Trigger. After this meeting, the brothers become, to their dismay, confidants and informants of Eraser Head, so that he can find out any news or rumors about Trigger appearing on the Naruhata black market. Also, Shota decides to use their store as an improvised base of operations, which frustrates the brothers. In one of his investigations, Shota ends up bumping into Koichi, one of Knuckleduster's companions whom he helped months ago. The young vigilante had tried to face Octoid, a new Next-Level Villain that the Villain Factory had released in the city. However, the villain turns out to be more dangerous than he initially thought so he decides to move him away from the most populated areas so that he does not cause damage, encountering Shota on his way. Eraser Head tries to stop the villain, but even for him, Octoid is too powerful and ends up being seriously injured. Shota needs the help of Koichi, the Hotta brothers, and Kamachi, a friend of the Hotta brothers and a former Next-Level Villain, to capture Octoid. Even so, after an incident, the villain manages to escape, fleeing through the alleys of Naruhata; however, Shota and the others end up finding him lying on the ground, tremendously injured after having received a brutal beating by someone unknown. After this incident, Shota continues to collaborate with the Police Force, with Naomasa informing him of each new discovery and the last activities of the Villain Factory. Likewise, Koichi becomes a kind of ally and gives him a USB with important data that he obtains in his vigilantism patrols. Shota gives this USB to Naomasa, who thanks to this and other information that the police obtained from other sources, allows him to locate the main laboratories of the Villain Factory, in Onomura Pharma Corp. Naomasa decides to organize a police operation to assault Onomura, and during the days he is organizing the operation, he paired Shota with Fat Gum and Monika, with the mission of investigating people connected to the company. Finally, after several days, Naomasa has everything organized to carry out the raid. Eraser Head and Fatgum will help the police in case they have to face serious threats. With everything ready, on the same day that Captain Celebrity's farewell show is being held at the Tokyo Sky Egg, the police forces assault Onomura's main building. The assault forces advance towards the secret laboratories with hardly any problems or resistance. However, once there, they run into Number 6, the main agent of the Villain Factory, surrounded by a group of creatures known as Bombers. Before Shota or anyone else can stop him, Number 6 activates a device that self-detonate several Bombers, destroying the laboratory. Number 6 and five bombers escape the place and go to the Tokyo Sky Egg, in order to assassinate the Captain Celebrity. Fortunately, Shota and his allies manage to survive the explosion thanks to Fat Gum, and along with Naomasa, flies quickly by helicopter to the Tokyo Sky Egg. There he uses his Quirk to help the heroes who are fighting the Bombers, and also asks Naomasa to call All Might to come help. Thanks to this, All Might arrives in time to save everyone after Number 6 succeeded in getting the building to collapse by causing one of the Bombers to self-destruct. After the attack, while the security forces and volunteers help the affected, Shota meets Toshinori Yagi for the first time in person, without even knowing yet that he is All Might. Several weeks later, as he headed to the Hotta Brothers store for the usual, he receives a phone call from Midnight. She tells him that she is delighted to be a teacher at U.A., and Hizashi Yamada will start teaching next semester, with the only one missing being him. Shota replies that he has not agreed to being a teacher, but Midnight tells him that Hizashi believes that he just needs a good shove to take action, and she believes that he has been shying away from what really matters. Annoyed at Midnight's words, Shota ends the conversation. After this, he sees Koichi protecting a kitten from a wolf-like villain. Shota intervenes and easily defeats the villain, calling the police to take care of him. As it starts to rain, he and Koichi take shelter under an awning with the kitten. Koichi doesn't know what to do with it, and Shota quickly explains that taking care of an animal is a big responsibility. Faced with his attitude, Koichi asks if he got something against cats, because he has avoided looking at it. Shota simply replies that he doesn't want to be swayed by his emotions, and if he's not prepared for responsibility, he shouldn't get involved with something in the first place. This situation makes Shota remember the years in which he was a student at U.A. and everything that happened to his partner Oboro and how his death affected him. Once the rain ceases, Shota leaves to go to Hotta Brother's shop, with Koichi deciding to go with him in case someone wants to keep the kitten. Once there, he finds that Octoid, whose real name is Ikajiro Takobe, is with the Hotta Brothers as he is going to be the cook in the café that the Hotta brothers plan to open. Seeing the kitten, Ikajiro decides to adopt it, and all this triggers a friendly discussion about how the café should be. This reminds Shota of a happy moment with Hizashi, Oboro, and Nemuri in a similar situation, discussing about starting their own dream Hero Agency and how it should be. All this makes him reflect on what he really should do. Ichiro tells Shota that they even included him in their plans for the café, but Shota tells them not to consider him in their plans since he will leave the town soon, saying he might stop by the café eventually to visit. Shortly after this, Shota starts his new career as a teacher at U.A. High, where he quickly gains a reputation for being an incredibly tough and strict teacher, to the point of even expelling many of his students, even and entire class, just to re-enroll them later. It turns out, Shota had requested permission from Nezu with the ability to expel and re-enroll students, as he felt that self-sacrifice isn't the same as being "suicidal", and that he wants to teach students what 'death' is like, if only once, which he felt would make them strive higher. Nezu agrees to his request. A few years after leaving Naruhata, Shota fills in completing school work for an absent Midnight when he's once again pestered by Present Mic. He discovers that Shota is secretly following along with the news updates regarding the recent Naruhata bombings, leading Mic to poke fun at him for still caring about his acquaintances over there, even though he won't admit it. He jokingly suggests he should go back and babysit them, while Shota smugly smiles and states that "they aren't his students". He then receives a call from Detective Naomasa, asking for assistance in apprehending The Crawler. Due to being a person of interest regarding the Naruhata cases, and refusing to comply with his orders, Naomasa recruits several Pro Heroes to track down Koichi, who manages to outrun all of them, until he's eventually confronted by Eraser Head, who tells him that the "surface dwellers" aren't equipped to handle people like him. Cornering him in an alleyway, Eraser Head berates Koichi for his actions, running away from all the Heroes trying to help him who are also on his side, and calling it irrational as people like him don't stop and reflect on their actions until someone gets hurt. Koichi tries to use this moment to run away, but Eraser Head uses his Erasure to shut down his Slide And Glide. Despite this, Koichi manages to recover and dash away on foot, to the Hero's surprise. While Koichi runs through the streets, Eraser Head keeps up chasing him from above the rooftops. Knowing about his Quirk, Koichi tries to stay out of Eraser Head's sight to make his getaway, however due to his years of acting as a Hero in the Naruhata area, he is familiar with the layout and shortcuts as well and tracks him down, Erasing his Quirk again. Koichi once again surprises Eraser Head by being able to quickly pull out a grappling hook to recover and swing away out of his view. He thinks about how unfazed he is by his Erasure and how quickly he was able to switch to Quirkless maneuvers to escape. As Koichi uses his Quirk to blast himself into the air, Eraser Head thinks of him as "one tough customer" In the middle of their chase, suddenly all the power in Naruhata goes out. Eraser Head calls out to Koichi telling him that something's wrong, which Koichi is also aware of, but still trying to keep his distance so Eraser can't catch him. A civilian riding a scooter notices the chase above and ends up getting into an accident, forcing Koichi and Eraser Head to intervene, stopping the scooter from hitting others and saving the civilian. Koichi is approached by a group of civilians asking him what's going on, which he tells them he's unsure about too. They turn to Eraser Head for help next, who reminds the civilians Koichi isn't actually a "Hero", and saying they should lie low for now, only to receive backlash for the trepid response. Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, and Ingenium soon arrive to their location, who help to reassure the public they'll help them. Koichi and Eraser Head help to escort the civilians to the shelters, while the Pro Heroes try to assess the situation at the Naruhata Station, devising a plan to get out of the city and make contact with Detective Naomasa. Koichi walks into the station with Eraser Head to thank the Heroes for their service, barely making his way out the door before being ensnared by Eraser Head, effectively putting him under arrest. Best Jeanist and Edgeshot inquire why he didn't attempt to flee earlier, as Koichi says the least he could do was thank them for all the hard work they've been doing. After hearing this, Eraser Head tells Edgeshot he'll head to the hospital to link up with Naomasa, while he watches over Koichi. As the two make their way toward the hospital, Koichi thanks Eraser Head, while he explains his plan is to meet up with the police and Midnight, and turn Koichi over to the authorities then, reminding him that he'll break his legs if he tries to run. Just then, the two notice a trio of civilians yelling for help on the curb, and stop to try and help them. Koichi and Eraser Head reach the "civilians", revealing themselves to be creatures known as the Anonymous, exploding directly in front of them. They quickly regain their stance, with Eraser Head noticing their similarities to the Bombers, only having weaker explosions and being much more combat-capable. Koichi tries to shoot them with a repulsion blast, but the villains keep charging completely unfazed. Eraser Head uses his Erasure to delay their explosions long enough to knock them away. Soon as an army of Anonymous appear and start to surround the two, Eraser Head tells Koichi to make his escape while he distracts them. He tells him that he is a school teacher now, looking after 20 students who are always getting into trouble that he can't take his eyes off of, declaring that fighting this pack of villains is a piece of cake in comparison. Turning to Koichi, he tells him to inform Naomasa about their situation, as he prepares to run off in the other direction, leaving Eraser Head to face the Anonymous. However, Koichi's surprised by the arrival of more Anonymous in the same direction, forcing him to jump onto the side of a building for safety. He asks Eraser Head if he'll be okay on his own, which he responds by saying a real Hero doesn't need help from an amateur, and that he knows this isn't where he's supposed to be right now. Understanding, Koichi slides his way up the building, blasting his way through the sky toward the Hospital. Eraser Head reflects to himself how much of a pain it is he can't escape having to hold some kid's hand, turning back to face the Anonymous again, confidently ready to take them on. Koichi ends up making it to the hospital, however instead of getting help from All Might, he stays behind to face against Number 6 himself, keeping him at bay. The fight escalates to the point that Number 6 summons the Anonymous to further harass Koichi, and then eventually fuses together with the Bomber cells within them to transform into a gigantic fiery kaiju. During this time, Eraser Head manages to recover from his battle with the Anonymous and reaches the site of the chaos alongside the other Pro Heroes. He ensnares Koichi in his Capturing Weapon, pulling him toward him and quicky bracing up some of his fractured limbs he received as a result of the fight. He confronts Koichi over proving him right that he'd end up breaking his bones if he kept meddling like this. He continues to tell the Vigilante that he knows Number 6 is after him, so they have to use him as bait for now, but he'll be there to back him up. After mentioning nobody has a good Quirk to take him down currently, Koichi asks about his Erasure, which he responds that enemies that glow bright prevent proper visual confirmation, so it won't work. Koichi and Eraser Head continue to give chase, constantly dodging and evading Number 6's attacks. As it escalates, the civilians of Naruhata watch on, all recognizing "The Cruller" fighting the giant villain, cheering him on to succeed and defeat it. Eraser Head comments on Koichi's "popularity", clarifying it not as a compliment, as it's not only making the citizens evacuate slower, but also riling Number 6 up. Sure enough, he is right as Number 6 proceeds to scream out in despair, his power overloading his brain to the point that he explodes, splitting out into numerous mini bombers that begin to blow up all throughout the city. Eraser Head and Koichi hang on the side of a building as the rest of the Pros deal with mitigating the damage and protecting the civilians. Eraser Head then notices something going on in the rubble below, so jumps downward to it. Soon enough, the arrival of All Might and Endeavor is enough to dispel the threat of the mini bombers, saving the city. At the same time, Eraser Head frees a child from under the rubble, telling their family to get to safety, before resting for a moment. He's congratulated by Present Mic, surprised since rescues aren't usually his thing and not so "rational", but Eraser Head claims the citizen's safety is the top priority, so it is the "rational" decision. Present Mic heads back out with Mister Blaster for recon, reminding Eraser Head to look after The Crawler, only to notice him now missing. He then finds him knocked unconscious on a rooftop, before taking him to the hospital for his injuries. After dealing with the fallout of the "Naruhata Lockdown", Eraser Head returns to his usual duties, while Koichi accepts a proposal to move to America and become Captain Celebrity's Sidekick, known as "The Skycrawler". A year later his controversial escapades are broadcast over back to Japan, which Eraser Head ends up hearing about, all the while continuing to look up into the clouds and thinking about Oboro.
