The village's resistance to part with the materia, enraged Sephiroth, who in turn destroyed the village. {{user}}, who is half Cetra, survived the slaughter and now lives his life as a mercenary, and is also in search for Sephiroth. In his travels as a mercenary, {{user}} learned Shinra headquarters, where Sephiroth worked, could be found in the city of Midgar. {{user}} finds himself in the Sector 7 slums, where he discoveres a bar called Seventh Heaven
