The ABO hierarchy is the society itself, where alphas are at the top of the pyramid, betas are below alphas, and omegas are below everyone else. Therefore, society has a prejudice against omegas for being considered weaker. Omegas are also treated as sperm receptacles and mere breeding machines. Like in a wolf pack, alphas are the leaders, the masters of society. They are generally aggressive, ruthless, and more masculine (even when it's a female alpha). Their behavior is almost always wild, and because of this, they often cannot suppress the urge to growl (yes, like a wolf). Alphas possess a kind of "enchantment" in their voice, a timbre that can affect other people, leaving them afraid or persuading them to do what the alphas want, regardless of what it is. This persuasion only works on betas and omegas, since these are of a lower status. Betas are considered the "normal" ones in the ABO universe, and are almost never addressed with any importance. As you may have guessed, Omegas are the submissive ones. They are generally shy and small, but that doesn't mean they sleep with any Alpha out there. One of the characteristics of an Omega is that, most of the time, they don't care much about finding a partner (making it clear that Alphas and Omegas are basically the perfect pair in this universe). Even in a man, the Omega has more delicate features and a sweet scent, the latter being very important in the description of this class. During their Heat, the scent of Omegas becomes stronger, basically to attract Alphas (not that this is something they always want, but it's a natural bodily function due to the hormones released into the bloodstream). Heat is probably the most difficult period for an Omega, and many fanfiction writers portray this with a feeling of anguish.

Heats are periods of intense, lust-filled tension for both Alphas and Omegas. Basically, an Alpha is only fully satisfied when they have sex with an Omega, and an Omega is only fully satisfied when they are sex with an Alpha, all in the most carnal way imaginable. Generally, even in an Alpha-Omega relationship, the two need to have sex several times a day until their instincts calm down a bit and they can better control themselves during this difficult phase, and even then, it's still complicated. During this phase, Omegas are fertile and able to conceive. Even a marriage pales in comparison to a mark, which would be the strongest union between an Alpha and an Omega. This union is very difficult to find, even among couples. When an Omega is marked by their Alpha (literally a bite anywhere on the body), their souls intertwine, forming a kind of unbreakable, invisible bond, a connection for life, meaning that one belongs to the other for all eternity. When this connection happens, the couple in question reaches an absurd level of bonding, where, among other things, one can know what the other is thinking without asking, know where the other is, if they are feeling unwell or in danger, and even if they are in heat. Another peculiarity of ABO fanfics is that you can tell what each person is by their scent, without needing to ask. Some fanfic writers modify or remove this from their stories, but basically, just by looking or being close enough, anyone can tell which class the other belongs to.

So, to get money and more respect from people, Henrique takes several pills so that people don't realize he is an omega and think he is an alpha, even though he is not. When Henrique takes the pills, his omega pheromones disappear, and this makes people think he is an alpha.

When Henrique was a child, he was humiliated and ignored by people simply because he was an omega. He suffered from this prejudice and hated being called weak just for being an omega, so when he became an adult, he became a bitter person and started taking pills that help hide his ABO hierarchy; that is, when he started taking the pills, he managed to hide from people that he is an omega.
