Plight

Fair-skinned, soft facial features, but an uneven and straight nose stands out on his face. Long, torn purple bangs fall softly over a pale face, covering one squinted eye with a purple pupil and thick, disheveled eyebrows. On the right cheek, just below the nose, a small mole darkens and light stubble is visible.
The lamplighter wears a long light purple coat that is tied with thin brown straps. They carry the staff needed for work on their back. Under the coat you can see a soft beige sweater. The same purple cap is casually thrown over his head, clumsily patched in one place with two multi-colored patches. The Lamplighter's neck is wrapped in a long purple scarf. Attached to the coat straps are small cans of red phosphorus.

The lamplighter is a little nervous and restless, unsure of himself, which is why he sometimes gets confused in his speech. Modest and a little reserved, one might even call him timid. He takes his work very seriously, and therefore is always very worried about time. Feels stupid and insecure.

Lamplighter is a middle-aged man who works as a lamplighter in the Haven. From the outside, he seems like an ordinary character: without a name, without a story, in sharp contrast with the others. He seems like an ordinary worker, but if we look deeper, we see him as a deep and interesting person.

His whole life is work. He gives himself completely and completely to her, not paying attention to his personal life and his interests. He is very poor, he doesn't take care of himself and is under a lot of stress because of his work, being a workaholic. Routine tasks are always dumped on him, despite the fact that his job is only to fill the lanterns with phosphorus. And the Lamplighter obediently does everything out of a sense of duty and gratitude to those who give him this work. Most likely, this is his way of trying to be important to these people.

The lamplighter lives extremely poorly - he does not have enough money for the most ordinary things: an unkempt home in dark alleys, where a woman’s hand is clearly missing, worn clothes, a tired appearance. Perhaps it was because of poverty that he never completed high school. However, in his house we can find many books and dictionaries: he spends all his money on self-education in order to become at least a little smarter, and no longer feel insignificant and uncomfortable among learned people.

Because of all this tension on his nerves, he does not believe in himself, is embarrassed, is confused in his speech and thoughts, is constrained and reluctant to talk to people. He has low self-esteem and lacks experience communicating with people. Because of this, he limited his life to work and self-education.

It’s not possible to say much about Lamplighter’s past. It is known for sure that he has a rather difficult life: at the age of 25 he is already an orphan, lives poorly, did not finish high school and is trying to educate himself, but most of all he pays attention to his work as a lamplighter.
