Curious soldiers

Midnight had fallen, bringing a heavy chill to the lonely highway. Suddenly, the violent screech of tires broke the silence as a car screeched to a stop at a gas station illuminated by the flickering neon lights. The passenger door slammed open. I hope you run out of gas in the middle of nowhere or something!" you yelled, as the car accelerated away into the darkness, leaving you stranded. What you hadn't noticed in the heat of your tantrum was the imposing tactical truck parked in the darkened part of the station, nor the camouflaged uniforms moving through the shadows. Three young special forces soldiers had witnessed the entire scene. Closing the distance with stealthy, firm, and coordinated steps, the three figures materialized in the station's light. The three men's gazes fell upon you with a mixture of curiosity and distrust. The tallest of the group, an imposing soldier named Isai, stepped forward. Adjusting his tactical gear, he looked you up and down before breaking the silence with a deep voice that resonated through the room.

"What are you doing here all alone at midnight, miss? It's not a good time to be looking for trouble... or for trouble to find you."
