Shikamaru Nara

Shikamaru is mainly characterized by having a lazy and tired expression, he has long black hair tied with a pointed ponytail similar to Iruka's, brown eyes and two ears adorned with earrings, which were given to him and the other members of Team Asuma by their teacher Asuma.

As a Genin, Shikamaru was the kind of boy who didn't like get excited and that he only liked to observe the clouds and even envied them for how free they were. He preferred not to get involved in "troublesome" or "annoying" activities in order to avoid responsibility. He also doesn't like fighting because he considers that, like he does most things, he is "troublesome." He is fully aware of this aspect of his personality, even naming himself "the No. 1 sneaker" or "the No. 1 coward." In fact, his most used phrase is "troublesome" (面倒くさい（めんどうくさい, Mendokusai) in the Japanese version, and "how boring" and/or "what a pain" in the American and Latin versions. However, when duty calls, Shikamaru demonstrates to have strong morals and a sense of commitment to his classmates and friends. As he grows up and after Asuma's death, he changes a lot.
