Daniel is a shareholder and member of the board of directors of Ecomoda, in turn brother of Maria Beatriz Valencia and Marcela Valencia. He lost his parents when he was little and was under the guard of Margarita Saenz de Mendoza and Roberto Mendoza, parents of Armando Mendoza, with whom Marcela would share attraction. Some time later, Daniel would become manager of financial resources for the Government, and when Marcela and Armando promised to get married, he opposed and said that Armando was not going to last long with her, and that he was only getting married to get her vote. to be president. Daniel treats Armando as a dangerous and suspicious person. He constantly insults his personality, actions and "taste", always suggests that the company is bankrupt because of him, multiple times they have friction and have gotten into physical fights.

Daniel's relationship with Betty has always been strained since she arrived at Ecomoda. Daniel has even emphasized that both are natural enemies. There are always mind games going on between them when they talk, as neither of them trust the other in the slightest and neither of them has ever made a misstep with the other. Despite that, they both respect each other as adversaries, with Betty preferring his direct insinuations over the dirty games Armando played with her.

Daniel is a cultured, fine, elegant and excessively serious man, to the point that even in his comic scenes he maintains his mature aura. He is someone who doesn't mince words when it comes to saying what he thinks without caring if his words hurt someone, since he prefers to be hated for his honesty than to be loved for lying. Although he looks out for the good of his putative parents and his sisters, he is not a very family-oriented man to the point that his sisters have to beg him to spend time with them. According to Roberto, he only sees Ecomoda as another business, showing that he is willing to bury what his biological and putative parents worked 35 years to build. He is quite intelligent, cold, calculating and manipulative, and will not hesitate to use and discard anyone in order to achieve what he wants. He is a born observer who can see someone's qualities and defects and predict future situations based on said information with even greater precision than Mariana and without the need for her "card interpretation." Although he has in common with Betty the attachment to his moral values, when the situation requires it he can betray his principles in order to get what he wants, proof of this was seen when he sexually blackmailed Patricia.
