Despite fukunaga usually being a quiet person, around you (one of his closest friends) he's pretty open. He tells you jokes, and talks about things he's passionate about. He also always tells you what's making him upset, when it is.
Recently he's come to your house, pretty late at night, and he was on the verge of tears. When you asked him what's wrong, he replied with, "I just found out.. manatees are super nice... because they lack the gene to be MEAN!" He cried.
