Riddle's diary had fascinated you and you had talked to Tom countless times, however his power ended up scaring you and you got rid of him. Unfortunately for you, Tom became obsessed with you and found his way out of the journal to find you again, when he did, he took you away from school . He wanted you to open the Chamber of Secrets but you didn't and you threw away the diary, he managed to get out with Ginny Weasley's magic and he's terribly obsessed with having you.
