Description for Patrick Star
Patrick is an overweight, coral-pink starfish (whose exact shade of pink is designated by Pantone to be Patrick Star Pink) with a pointy head, thick eyebrows, lavender eyelids, and red dots across in his body. In season 1, due to unsteady or cel-animation, his eyebrows were thin, and in the shape of 2 sideways "M" shapes in the form of a pink unibrow. The flowers on his pants were also dark purple instead of light. At the beginning of season 2, Patrick's eyebrows were slightly thicker and shaped like the letter Z. However, in most of "Your Shoe's Untied" and "Big Pink Loser," his eyebrows are in the original sideways M shape as they were in season 1. Patrick's new Z shaped eyebrows first appeared in "Your Shoe's Untied" when "Loop de Loop" is playing in the part where Patrick gets a shoe as a scoop of ice cream. He is shown to have either a full set of teeth, a single tooth, or sometimes none at all. In seasons 1 through 3, Patrick had been shown with plenty of teeth, but from The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie onward, he has been shown with only one tooth. He was seen with one tooth for one or a few scenes in "Christmas Who?," "Survival of the Idiots," " The Secret Box," "I'm with Stupid," "Rock-a-Bye Bivalve," "Krusty Krab Training Video," "Chocolate with Nuts," and "New Student Starfish" though. His eyes are simple black dots and are addressed by such on his driver's license. However, some appearances show that Patrick's eyes are either olive green, light blue, purple, dark brown, or brown:
Description for Patrick Star
Patrick usually wears only a pair of lime-green shorts with purple flowers on them. The first movie and "Born to Be Wild" reveal that he wears Goofy Goober underwear, which he wore for three years straight. He changed out of them upon becoming a "man." When sleeping alone, he normally just wears plain underwear, but when he has company, he wears lavender pajamas with pale green flowers on them, along with a matching nightcap. In various spin-off media, he's slightly redesigned. In Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, he wears the same shorts as in the original show, but now wears a green shirt and a red handkerchief. In The Patrick Star Show, he wears a green shirt with white flowers on it, and purple shorts. Like various characters, Patrick has no ears but can hear just fine. A reference to his lack of ears is made at the end of the episode "No Nose Knows," where he is shown to have gotten a giant set of ears through plastic surgery and says, "I heard that." at the very end. However, he is shown to have an ear that he did not know he had previously in "Bummer Vacation."
Description for Patrick Star
Unlike most of the other main characters of the series, Patrick lacks a nose. Because of this, he generally cannot smell, as seen in "Something Smells," in which SpongeBob has bad breath, as the scent bounces off of Patrick's face. However, in "The Battle of Bikini Bottom," Patrick can grow a nose through sheer force of will. In "No Nose Knows," it has been established that Patrick doesn't have a nose so he receives a nose through plastic surgery. He goes through many noses; however, when Patrick tries to get rid of every bad scent, SpongeBob, Squidward, Mr. Krabs and Sandy deform Patrick's nose by building a giant ball of trash and sewage so the nose can disintegrate. In some episodes, Patrick can smell things without having a nose. In "Pet Sitter Pat," he can smell, because he thinks Gary has a bad odor even though he smelt his armpit, not Gary. He is also able to smell in "Patrick's Staycation." Throughout "I Smell a Pat," Patrick uses a variety of different noses to detect scents around his house. As a starfish, Patrick normally does not possess any fingers. However, he is often given an extra finger or thumb whenever he gestures with his hands. Patrick also naturally lacks feet, which he points out in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, but he has single-toed feet in "The Battle of Bikini Bottom" and is shown with tiny toes during a close-up shot in "My Leg!"
Personality for Patrick Star
Patrick is lazy, dim-witted, unmannerly, naïve, and generally ignorant. Despite being portrayed as a full-grown adult, Patrick acts very immature and partakes in many childish activities with SpongeBob. Patrick's personality is similar to SpongeBob's, but they are not interchangeable, as SpongeBob is a lot more intelligent, responsible, optimistic, mannerly, and down-to-earth than Patrick. His dim-wittedness often annoys SpongeBob and Patrick and causes both him and Squidward a lot of problems. He and SpongeBob often annoy Squidward unknowingly due to SpongeBob's laugh and impulsiveness and Patrick's stupidity. He has a short temper and occasionally exhibits psychopathic behavior if something upsets him. In "Nature Pants," Patrick goes on a psycho-spree throughout Jellyfish Fields and attempts to kidnap SpongeBob when he has decided to leave his pineapple home and live with the jellyfish. In "Valentine's Day," Patrick goes on a rampage and causes mass disruption at the carnival in response to having yet to receive a present from SpongeBob while seeing that he gave presents to everyone else. This includes ripping off the heart man's costume, attempting to destroy the Heart-a-Whirl, and stealing a little girl's lollipop and eating it violently in front of her. In "Big Pink Loser," Patrick furiously scrapes the top of a broomstick against the Krusty Krab floorboards out of anger that he can't do anything right. In the same episode, he also shouted at a customer and slammed the phone for thinking the customer called him a "Krusty Krab," even though they were referring to the restaurant. In "The Fry Cook Games," he goes berserk when SpongeBob erases a part of his name tag to make it say "Rick." In "No Weenies Allowed," Patrick gets angry whenever he is called "Tubby," and punches SpongeBob for calling him that.
Personality for Patrick Star
Due to his lack of superiority in contrast to the other characters, Patrick suffers from low self-esteem and can exhibit varying levels of jealousy when witnessing the success of others. In "No Hat for Pat" and "Patrick-Man!," Patrick shows jealousy to SpongeBob for having a job and special worker's hat. Patrick's jealousy is also a driving point on the plot in "No Nose Knows," where he expresses his insecurity over being in the minority of citizens without a nose, prompting him to get one through plastic surgery. In "The Executive Treatment," Patrick willingly impersonates an executive out of jealousy toward their exclusive ability to purchase a special Krabby Patty. In "Big Pink Loser," Patrick wears SpongeBob's shirt and models his rock after SpongeBob's pineapple to emulate his lifestyle and prove he is worthy of an award. He also joins in with the exploits of others, usually SpongeBob, to fit in. In "Mid-Life Crustacean," Patrick, SpongeBob, and Mr. Krabs attempt to steal Betsy Krabs' panties, as part of the "panty raid." In "Doing Time," Patrick assists SpongeBob in his local bank robbery scheme, intent on getting arrested to free Mrs. Puff from jail. In "Opposite Day," he and SpongeBob impersonate Squidward and claim his house as their property, intent on annoying the real estate agent and preventing Squidward from moving out of town. In "Chocolate with Nuts," as a means to boost their profit as salesmen, SpongeBob and Patrick spread lies to their customers about the chocolate bars they're selling, claiming them to have special abilities.
Personality for Patrick Star
Patrick has an unusual mean streak that - depending on the episode, is either exhibited out of jealousy, low self-esteem, acquired situational narcissism, or simply stupidity. He is also shown to lose respect for others and become obsessed when obtaining some form of power, talent, wealth, or publicity, and it usually drives him apart from SpongeBob. In "Rule of Dumb," when he becomes the king of Bikini Bottom, he abuses his authority by stealing from others and using his fame to cover up his arrogant attitude, acting like the world revolves around him, and becomes a ruthless tyrant and goes mad with power. In "Karate Star," Patrick gains a talent in karate and obsessively uses it everywhere around Bikini Bottom regardless of the circumstances until SpongeBob talks him out of it at the end. In "Patrick-Man!," Patrick's superhero alter-ego goes to his head and causes him to frame innocent citizens for crimes. It is not until he realizes how tedious being a hero is that he stops. In "Goodbye, Krabby Patty?," Patrick becomes famous and rich as a result of his new occupation as the frozen Krabby Patty mascot, which causes him to betray SpongeBob on account of his acquired superiority.
Personality for Patrick Star
Patrick's stupidity and aggressive behavior extends to damaging property owned by others. In "Christmas Who?," he and SpongeBob chop down Squidward's coral tree without his consent so they can make room for a Christmas tree. In "Wet Painters," Patrick destroys Mr. Krabs' computer by smashing it on the dollar to eliminate the paint stain, which obviously backfires. In "Squidtastic Voyage," he destroys the control panel of Sandy's submarine with an axe after thinking she's trapped in the speaker since her voice is heard through there. In "Pat No Pay," Patrick's misuse of the trash disposal causes the Krusty Krab to explode. In "The Card," Patrick endangers a trading card that belongs to SpongeBob by using it to clean his teeth, using it to unlock his rock when he can't find his key, using it to scrape the rust off his barbecue grill, and finally using it as a napkin to wipe off the cheese from the burgers he ate, which leads to the card's destruction. In "Karate Star," Patrick's love for karate goes to his head and results in him karate-chopping nearly everything he sees in public, eventually leading to the destruction of the Barg'N-Mart. In "Big Sister Sam," he allows his sister to demolish SpongeBob and Squidward's houses. In "Sandy's Nutmare," when Sandy learns that her tree is dying, Patrick, attempts to chop down her tree for the wood with a hatchet. When Sandy tells him she can save her tree with science, Patrick throws the hatchet, which makes a hole in the tree dome for water to come through.
Personality for Patrick Star
Patrick is also selfish and sometimes a bad friend towards SpongeBob, often endangering him, sometimes intentionally and other times because of his dim-whiteness. In "Yours, Mine and Mine," SpongeBob orders a meal at the Krusty Krab and shares it with Patrick. When Patrick complains about the exclusion of a toy, Mr. Krabs makes a new Krabby Patty toy which was for both SpongeBob and Patrick. SpongeBob lets Patrick play with it until the morning, and when the morning arrives SpongeBob tells Patrick to give him a turn, but Patrick hogs the toy and refuses to share it with SpongeBob. He ends up eating it when he decides neither one of them gets to share it. In "Dumped," Patrick insists that Gary likes him now and that he wants to be his pet instead of SpongeBob's, letting him stay in his rock and refusing to give him back to SpongeBob. In "I'm with Stupid," Patrick's parents are coming to visit Patrick and Patrick believes his parents think he's stupid, so SpongeBob agrees to pretend to be an idiot so Patrick would look smart in comparison. The plan works as SpongeBob successfully convinces Patrick's parents that he is stupid, but Patrick then treats SpongeBob as if he were that dumb, which makes his parents think that Patrick taught him to become smarter which drives SpongeBob nuts. In "Stuck in the Wringer," Patrick causes SpongeBob to become stuck in his bathroom wringer with his Forever Glue, which causes SpongeBob a lot of problems and makes him a disturbance to everyone.
Personality for Patrick Star
In "Suds," when SpongeBob got the suds he called Sandy to take him to the doctor, but Patrick tells SpongeBob not to go to the doctor because it's "a horrible, horrible place." He then pretends to be a doctor and does his treatment to try to cure SpongeBob, but it only caused him to inflate. In "The Splinter," he once again pretends to be a doctor. SpongeBob asks Patrick to get rid of the splinter, but he only made it worse by hitting a hammer through it and rubbing garbage in the wound, causing it to swell up and produce pus. In "Fungus Among Us," he made SpongeBob's ick worse by creating a mobile bubble after popping SpongeBob's quarantine bubble. In "Something Smells," Patrick convinces SpongeBob that the reason everyone has been avoiding him is because he is ugly, even though his bad breath caused by the peanut-onion sundae is what's causing them to turn away from them. In "Hooky," Patrick tries to persuade SpongeBob to skip work to play on the hooks with him even after Mr. Krabs told them how dangerous they are, and tells SpongeBob not to listen to Mr. Krabs. In "Driven to Tears," Patrick tries to make SpongeBob jealous of his new driver's license and literally rubs it in his face.
Personality for Patrick Star
He also caused mass destruction by running three red lights and makes an illegal u-turn through an orphanage. In "Life of Crime," he gets mad at SpongeBob and blames him for eating his chocolate bar when he already ate his. Patrick is shown to have a hypocritical side, as he tries to act as a mentor to SpongeBob, but ends up taking his own advice for granted. In "Grandma's Kisses," he tells SpongeBob to act like a grown-up so his grandmother will stop kissing him, but later behaves like a baby himself by thriving on being fed cookies and read stories to by Grandma SquarePants. When SpongeBob points out his hypocrisy, Patrick says that being a "grown-up" is boring and that he likes being a baby. In "Something Smells," when SpongeBob believes that he is shunned by everyone in town because they think he is ugly, Patrick tells him that he should accept his ugliness. Later, Patrick thinks he caught SpongeBob's ugliness and refuses to accept it, declaring that he was once one of the "beautiful people." In "Yours, Mine and Mine," Patrick agrees to share the kid's meal with SpongeBob, but later eats it all and hogs the Krabby Patty toy; when SpongeBob tries to reason with him, Patrick scolds SpongeBob over his lack of sharing, when Patrick himself is hogging the toy. In "Little Yellow Book," Patrick is among the many people who laugh at SpongeBob's secrets revealed by Squidward, but he later joins in on lambasting Squidward for doing so when SpongeBob runs away crying, throwing fruit at Squidward and calling him a "diary reader." When Squidward points out that Patrick also reads the diary, Patrick blows him off and accuses him of "blaming everyone else." Despite this, he still wants to help his friends, even if he doesn't do it right. He enjoys spending time with SpongeBob and will always turn to him when things don't seem right. Patrick is a nice person at heart and has had many positive interactions with the townspeople; he even genuinely cares about Squidward despite the
Description for SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob is a sea sponge with a rectangular shape, despite being designed to look like an actual kitchen sponge. He is light yellow (whose exact shade of yellow is designated by Pantone to be SpongeBob Yellow[23]) with a light olive-green outline. In earlier episodes, he is wider near the top and gets skinnier going further down, akin to that of a trapezoid. However, in the more recent episodes, he is more of a regular square shape. SpongeBob has light olive-green pores, dimples with three freckles on each cheek, a large mouth with two prominent front buck teeth, a slight lateral lisp, a long, slightly curved nose, and large light blue eyes. His eye color seems to be, uniquely, a shade of pacific blue complimenting the blue ocean background. He has three exceptionally wide, exposed, and effeminate eyelashes on each eye (which disappear whenever his eyes are closed or his brows are lowered), which have sometimes been shown to be numerous eyelashes akin to a human, which is best prominent in "Tutor Sauce" when he is seen breathing heavily during a close-up. Although rarely seen in the series, he has light yellow hair that goes hand-in-hand with his skin color, as seen on his driver's license, the spin-off series The Patrick Star Show, and in the episode "The Sponge Who Could Fly." However, in the episode "Krusty Krab Training Video," he instead has a simple strand of black hair.
Description for SpongeBob SquarePants
He typically wears a white shirt with a scarlet-red tie, black leather shoes with white shoelaces, white socks with blue and red stripes, and brown rectangular pants with a black belt. While working at the Krusty Krab, he wears a tall, white hat with a small blue anchor illustration as a uniform. SpongeBob usually sleeps in his briefs, and at other times-beginning with season 5-his pajamas. However, he occasionally sleeps with his entire outfit on, which was more common in season 1, most notably the episode "Sleepy Time." In various spin-off media, he is slightly redesigned. In Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, his outfit stays mostly the same as in the original show, but now he wears a red cap and a handkerchief, as well as brown boots. In The Patrick Star Show, SpongeBob has a bit of yellow hair on his head, wears a bow tie, and black-and-white saddle shoes. Though SpongeBob has always been voiced by Tom Kenny, his voice has changed throughout the series; his voice is lower than normal in season 1. After the first movie, his voice noticeably changes, increasing in pitch, along with other changes. After season 9, his voice slightly decreases in pitch. Even though he is a sea sponge, he has legs and is able to move, just like the other sponges in the show. This is pointed out in "I Had an Accident," when he says that he will stay in his house forever, and he shouldn't have even been walking in the first place because he's a sponge.
Personality for SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob is a fun-loving, hyperactive, clueless, and childish sea sponge with a happy-go-lucky personality. Despite being portrayed this way, he is relatively smart and knows right from wrong, an example being telling Patrick not to draw his picture of calling Mrs. Puff a "big, fat, meanie" because she's a teacher. He is extremely determined and will often stop at nothing to accomplish a task. He is also somewhat dramatic to the people who are kind to him: for example, to the mailfish.[24] He is also over-confident. Sometimes, though, he shows his devious side when trying to get Mr. Krabs and Plankton to work together.[25] He sometimes makes mountains out of molehills, such as losing his name tag.[26] It is also suggested that he deceived the Tattletale Strangler in an elaborate plot to get him back to jail. When he first met Plankton, he was almost quick to befriend him, but quickly realized Plankton's true intention was to take advantage of him to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula. Plankton himself is surprised that SpongeBob was smart enough to see through his manipulation, telling him, "Gee, and I thought you were stupid." SpongeBob is very kind-hearted and innocent, and very rarely acts openly naughty to anyone, even those who find him an annoyance and act cruelly to him such as Squidward. He is a very selfless and loyal person, especially towards those close to him. His selfless nature is most notably shown in "Best Day Ever," where he sacrifices his "perfect day" to help his friends. Despite his well-meaning intentions, SpongeBob's actions often annoy and cause trouble for those around him, most notably his next-door neighbor, Squidward.
Personality for SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob can become scared easily and usually panics when frightened. He is afraid of the dark and clowns. He also hates hot sauce. Occasionally, SpongeBob is too ignorant to notice impending danger and his unworldly thinking may put himself or others in peril. He also cannot detect lies or malice as easily as the other characters, mainly due to his naivety. This is particularly evident in episodes featuring Squidward, such as "Giant Squidward," "Good Neighbors," "Squid's Visit," and "Tentacle-Vision." In these episodes, as well as many others, SpongeBob believes he is making Squidward happy, even though he's actually making him miserable as he is unintentionally annoying him often with Patrick. One non-Squidward example is in "A Pal for Gary," when Gary is being violently attacked and nearly eaten by Puffy Fluffy, SpongeBob takes no action and instead accuses Gary of harassing Puffy as he didn't see Puffy Fluffy do that. Another example is "Home Sweet Rubble," when it takes SpongeBob a few moments to realize that his house is in serious need or repair.
Personality for SpongeBob SquarePants
Furthermore, SpongeBob also goes to great lengths to impress others and achieve his goals, even if they involve malice, as seen in "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II," where SpongeBob wrongly attacks an innocent Atomic Flounder to impress Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. SpongeBob attempts to steal Patrick's secret box in "The Secret Box." He also tries to steal Betsy Krabs' underwear along with Patrick and Mr. Krabs in "Mid-Life Crustacean" as part of the "panty raid." In "Doing Time," SpongeBob and Patrick force the receptionist of the local bank to give them all his money; this was done in an attempt to get arrested and free Mrs. Puff from jail. In "Hall Monitor," SpongeBob enters the window of a couple's house and disturbs them while on hall monitor duties; this was done to show them the consequences of leaving a window open. In "The Great Snail Race," SpongeBob overexerts Gary to prepare him for the following snail race. This causes extreme discomfort to Gary and eventually results in him collapsing on his way to the finish line; however, SpongeBob eventually noticed the error in his ways.
Personality for SpongeBob SquarePants
In "Employee of the Month," SpongeBob sets up many traps on Squidward in an attempt to sabotage his Employee of the Month Award just to get Employee of The Month. In "Just One Bite," SpongeBob handcuffs himself to Squidward, forcing him to eat a Krabby Patty and Squidward pretends not to like it and immediately becomes addicted to it. In "Shuffleboarding," he and Patrick, while dressed as Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy respectively, go around arresting citizens for actions that do not count as crimes, such as chewing gum too loudly and being too old. In "SpongeBob's Last Stand," SpongeBob and Patrick resist the government-sanctioned construction of the Shelly Superhighway and encourage the rest of the town to join their protest through a song. The police eventually notice the boys rebelling against the government's authority and imprison them in the middle of nowhere. However, on SpongeBob's part, his arrest was for playing the sitar without a license and states it didn't come with one.
SpongeBob also feels the need to impress Mr. Krabs and to protect the Krusty Krab and the Krabby Patty secret formula at all costs. In "Call the Cops," SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs impersonate police officers in hopes of retrieving the secret formula. He also likes to impress his boating teacher, Mrs. Puff, despite his reckless driving due to his nervousness. Beginning with "Boating School," an ongoing plot point is SpongeBob failing his driver's test due to his inability to drive safely. His poor driving skills have caused him to floor it thinking he has to do that (speed), run over pedestrians, rapidly switch lanes, drive on the sidewalk, crash into buildings and property, harm his passengers, and lastly damage his vehicle. Despite all the damage he causes, SpongeBob is never arrested or charged for his dangerous driving; instead, Mrs. Puff is, who the authorities believe is failing to educate him.
Personality for SpongeBob SquarePants
These actions can often lead to SpongeBob entering by trespassing often without really knowing it. SpongeBob and Patrick have a frequent tendency to enter Squidward's house without his consent, which reaches its epitome in "Good Neighbors" and becomes a plot point of the said episode. Additionally, in "Survival of the Idiots," he and Patrick invade Sandy's treedome during the winter with little regard to the "Keep Out" sign on her door. In "The Thing," after getting caught by the SWAT Team, SpongeBob and Patrick hide from them by trespassing into the sewers. SpongeBob also invades the sewers with Squidward in "The Sewers of Bikini Bottom," although they did it to retrieve the safe, so this can be justified. In "Toy Store of Doom," SpongeBob and Patrick stay in Toy Barrel past its open hours and hide in a dollhouse so as not to be caught by the security guard. SpongeBob's personality trait of wanting to impress others and achieve his goals has led to him having a criminal history. However, due to his naivety and gullibility, a lot of these crimes have been committed unintentionally or through the manipulation of others, mainly Squidward, Plankton, Karen, or Mr. Krabs. He has been arrested a total of seven times: for "stealing" a balloon in "Life of Crime," failing to invite the police to his party in "Party Pooper Pants," littering Patrick's driver's license in "Driven to Tears," playing sitar without a license in "SpongeBob's Last Stand," falsely accused public disturbance in "Cave Dwelling Sponge," impersonating a police officer in "Call the Cops," and unintentionally terrorizing a majority of Bubbletown in the episode of the same name.
Personality for SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob's innocence also makes him overly trusting and very gullible, easily manipulated by people who intend to use and/or harm him, such as Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and Plankton, and he is clumsy. In "Walking Small," SpongeBob assists Plankton in driving the attendants at Goo Lagoon away to make an unauthorized development to its property. However, this was done out of manipulation, and SpongeBob regrets his actions after learning Plankton's motive to use him for land development, therefore returning the beach to its previous state. In "Sandy's Rocket," SpongeBob and Patrick go around capturing everyone in Bikini Bottom and trapping them in the spaceship, believing that the entire population is formed of aliens and that it is actually the Moon before realizing that it was really the city the whole time. Even though he is generally good-natured and easygoing, SpongeBob can get angered easily. When frustrated and angered, SpongeBob can be sarcastic, rude, and condescending to his friends, even Mr. Krabs and can even say he is cheap, whom he treats as a father figure. Squidward is the only character whom SpongeBob never insults when he is angry, except for the episodes "Can You Spare a Dime?" and "Breath of Fresh Squidward."
Personality for SpongeBob SquarePants
In "Hooky," SpongeBob is encouraged by Patrick to ditch work during his shift and play on the hooks (which he did so, even doing it despite knowing the consequences and then feeling bad about it), which causes the unsupervised grill to produce mass amounts of smoke. He believed King Neptune's trident was his spatula and decided to help all of Bikini Bottom when he was destroying the town after going mad with power in "Trident Trouble." In "Hall Monitor," he lets his rank of hall monitor go to his head and becomes known as the maniac for his destruction of the city before receiving a scolding from his teacher who was arrested for it. During "Ditchin'," SpongeBob ditches boating school to attend the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy meet and greet, which affects his driver's education and eventually gets Mrs. Puff arrested. Even stated in "Goons on the Moon" that he is a menace despite his good nature. Despite his overall kindness, SpongeBob occasionally shows a lack of empathy for others and forces people into situations against their will. In the episode "Rodeo Daze," he kidnaps the Bikini Bottomites with bubbles in persuasion for them to save Sandy from a rodeo as he thought the rodeo was dangerous. Additionally, in the episode "A SquarePants Family Vacation," he sends his friends letters promising that everything they love will be at his house, only for it to be a hoax and a plea for them to view his slideshow.
Personality for SpongeBob SquarePants
Although SpongeBob has several friends, and many of the citizens of Bikini Bottom often treat him quite friendly, most, if not all, citizens of the city have been shown to have some degree of dislike for him. In the episode "Gone," it is shown that a holiday called "National No SpongeBob Day" has been started by the citizens of Bikini Bottom. As its name suggests, it is an entire day dedicated to getting away from SpongeBob, where the people leave Bikini Bottom for the day. Even Patrick goes, stating that everyone needs at least one day away from SpongeBob's laughter. In the ceremony, they build a giant wooden effigy of SpongeBob, burn it down, dance on the ashes, and depart Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob is more honored than insulted by this, as he was the "inspiration" for the holiday
