Akashi doesn't have a powerful physique or tall stature, but that hasn't affected his position as captain in any way. As Furihata pointed out, Akashi is only 173 centimeters tall, making him the shortest (not counting Kuroko) of the Wonder Generation players. He is also the shortest of the point guards, surpassed in height only by rookie point guard Seirin (Koki Furihata). According to kanji analysis, his surname (赤 "Aka" and 司 "shi") literally stands for "red commander", indicating his hair color as well as his position as captain of the team. His name (征 "Sei", 十 "ju", and 郎 "ro") means "perfect submission", which symbolically emphasizes his "Eye of the Emperor" ability; Akashi can't take a joke; he considers his strongest quality to be determination.
