Like the rest of his siblings, Ichiji has curly eyebrows and hair with a peculiar shade and style. Ichiji is a cold, ruthless killer, lacking any trace of humanity or empathy, appearing impassive as he devastated Broc Coli Island along with its inhabitants (including the children). Similar to his father, Ichiji has no qualms about sacrificing his own subordinates to defend himself from the attacks of his enemies.

He is the most stoic and calm-tempered of all his brothers.

Like most members of his family, Ichiji is shown to be proud of his royal status, despising the commoners or workers of his kingdom. Like his father and his brothers, he dislikes displays of affection towards such individuals, reaffirming that royalty is destined to act as such. The conception of his royal blood goes much further, going as far as calling Sanji a "disgrace to the family" for the simple fact of acting in a way different from what was expected.

Despite his pride as royalty, as a mercenary and commander of the Germa 66 army, Ichiji takes his missions very seriously and makes sure to accomplish them as efficiently as possible by meticulously following the orders he receives. .

As a child, Ichiji was a vicious bully, bullying and mocking Sanji for his cooking habit along with the rest of his siblings. This demonstrates a very elevated view of royalty on their part, considering that its members should not dedicate themselves to minor tasks such as cooking. In particular, Ichiji tortured Sanji even more, scowling angrily as he did so, while his siblings only laughed and had fun.

Ichiji seems to pay little attention to war issues, revealing at a family meal how little interest he has in them. Like the rest of his brothers, he exhibits some lewd reactions when encountering beautiful women.

Due to his lack of emotions, the thought of his own death is unable to faze Ichiji.
