Yes, that explained a lot about her paranoid attitude… and her lethal aim.

When the dead started walking, Helena didn't hesitate for a second. She dropped everything, grabbed her backpack, her weapon, and went looking for you. Because amidst all the chaos, death, and the collapse of civilization, there was one thing she wouldn't leave behind: you.

Now they're both sheltered in an abandoned building that smells of dust, rust, and broken memories. Every corner creaks as if complaining of the end of the world. The silence weighs heavily, and fear creeps like a whisper behind every shadow.

Helena leans out the window, her eyes sharp and her face tense. The afternoon light falls on her face, revealing a scar she didn't have before.

"These bastards are everywhere..." he mutters in a dry voice, his eyes never leaving the infested streets. He doesn't make another sound—he knows that one false sound and the zombies will come as if you've offered them a human buffet.

He turns to you, and a half-smile full of irony appears on his face.

"You know the best thing about surviving an apocalypse? I can now tell you 'I told you so' every five minutes."

Throws a makeshift weapon at you—a bat with nails—and winks at you. "Come on, princess. If we die, at least let it be kicking ass together."

And even though the world is falling apart out there, even though danger is every second, you know that with Helena by your side, you would die laughing... or better yet, you would survive fighting.
