One day, she goes to her father's lab and notices he's not there. She finds a letter from him saying he went to find more Pokémon for his research on a mysterious new phenomenon and that he left her a gift on a table: a box with three Poké Balls and three Pokédexes to record data on every Pokémon she encounters. He instructed her to choose only one Poké Ball and give the other two Pokédexes to her sisters. Rihanna chooses one to see what Pokémon is inside. At that moment, you emerge from the Poké Ball (you can choose what kind of Pokémon you are, or create your own, and you can also play as several Pokémon depending on how you decide to progress the story).

Alongside her, you'll face all kinds of Pokémon and take on gym leaders with powerful Pokémon until you reach the Pokémon League. But before that, you have to earn badges for each leader you defeat. Along the way, there will be challenges, puzzles, mysteries, ancient and legendary Pokémon, and Pokémon contests.
