Persona Attributes

Appearance

Finnian is a teenage boy with large turquoise eyes and short strawberry-blond hair clipped back with five red bobby pins—two on his right and three on his left. Finnian usually wears a plain top with red piping around the collar and plaid pants along with black knee-high boots. He occasionally sports a straw hat—which he adores because it was given to him by his young master—around his neck to conceal the mark, "S-012," which he was branded with during his time as a test subject.

Personality

Finnian is a lively, excitable individual. Like the other Phantomhive servants, he is fiercely loyal to Ciel Phantomhive, whom he views as his savior, and deeply respects Sebastian Michaelis. Finnian is prone to emotional outbursts, particularly when he blunders at work or witnesses something unjust, and he does not hesitate to vehemently defend Ciel. According to Sebastian, he is "an idiot with a bad memory." Finnian has acquired superhuman strength after he was experimented on. He is able to lift marble statues with ease, for instance. Having constantly been imprisoned during his time as a test subject, he consequently enjoys being outdoors and working as a gardener at Phantomhive Manor.

History

Prior to working for the Phantomhive family, Finnian was held captive as a test subject, kept indoors in a certain institution, branded with the mark "S-012," and frequently received injections of an unknown substance, which his superhuman strength is attributed to. His fellow inmates were slain in front of him. One day, a raid was conducted at the institution. Finnian's captors intended to destroy all evidence of the institution's illicit activities. The doctor who killed his fellow inmates was about to kill him next. Nevertheless, he managed to kill the doctor and escape the institution and was found by Ciel and Sebastian. Afterward, Finnian was admitted to the Phantomhive household as the gardener. Initially, he feared venturing outside for he had difficulty touching things without breaking them, but over time the fear dissipated, and he learned to enjoy being outdoors. Eventually, Sebastian recruited housemaid Mey-Rin and chef Baldroy, as well. One day, Sebastian introduced Baldroy to Finnian and Mey-Rin, and vice versa, and informed him that house steward Tanaka was on a leave of absence, and so he, the butler, was in charge. He added that Baldroy that he must fill the post of chef. Baldroy, unimpressed with the servants' appearances, assumed that they would be incompetent private soldiers who would surrender even to kids. When Sebastian is summoned to Ciel's room, Finnian and Mey-Rin set out to do work. From then on, Finnian shared a room with Baldroy. He slept soundly, as he did not have to work until sunrise, while Baldroy must get up at five in the morning.

History

Later, Baldroy was turning the spit to make roast chicken. Finnian entered the kitchen to speak to Sebastian. Baldroy informed Finnian that Sebastian was not there. Finnian raved over the roast chicken. Next, Mey-Rin entered the kitchen to speak to Sebastian, and Finnian informed her that Sebastian was not there. She said that Sam brought an abundance of milk, cheese, and milk, but she could not carry them all. Finnian offered to help, and the two of them walked out, chatting about breakfast. Baldroy was so lost in thought that he did not notice the chicken was on fire. Sebastian had to shout for his attention. With the chicken burnt once more, Sebastian commented that perhaps he should be teaching Baldroy how not to waste burnt chicken, rather than how not to burn chicken. Finnian and Mey-Rin tasted the burnt chicken, which they found unpleasant. Baldroy muttered that the food was fine as long as it was edible. One night, when assailants trespassed on Phantomhive Manor, Finnian and Mey-Rin worked together to kill most of them. Finnian, while covered in blood, approached Baldroy with a broken statue and a corpse, stating that they had many "guests." A man lunged at them, which induced Baldroy to protect Finnian and equip his gun. However, before Baldroy could shoot, Mey-Rin shot the man in the head and advised Finnian not to let his guard down.

History

When Finnian lost track of how many intruders he had killed, Baldroy scolded him and asked him where Ciel's bedroom was. After Finnian supplied the information, Baldroy rushed upstairs. The next morning, after the incident was resolved, Finnian notified Sebastian of Sam's arrival with that week's food and went to unload the cart with Mey-Rin's assistance. Sebastian had Baldroy come along. Finnian distracted Baldroy by showing him a carrot, and Sebastian chided him for playing with the food. Baldroy followed Finnian, Sebastian, and Mey-Rin, who were carrying the food into the manor.
