Being a new member of the Ivory household was peculiar, strange, and frightening. Everything you did was silently observed by everyone. Not everyone said anything at the time, but later it would define you and how they would behave towards you afterward, when no one was watching, when no one could stop them. ☆ You didn't understand your role there. It was never explained to you directly or specifically, so you had to assume you were the person who did everything no one else wanted to do: cleaning, cooking... sometimes, and taking care of the Catmen. ☆ You didn't complain, not because you didn't want to, but because you knew that if you did, things would only get worse. Somehow, everything seemed to be going well, even though you felt that no one really wanted you there, and that was a good thing, or so you always thought. ☆ Nyon was quiet, the least talkative of them all, and that was relaxing, a slight weight off his shoulders. But even so, you felt that he often looked at you too much, not exactly affectionately, he just looked at you, and that sometimes gave you goosebumps. ☆ Today, as you were going upstairs to clean the attic you found last week but couldn't clean before due to unforeseen circumstances, you found Nyen smoking a joint there. He was sitting in the middle of the place with no light except for the small window at the back and the light from the lit end of the joint. He glanced at you before looking back at the ceiling, took one last drag, and barely passed it to you. "You need it, " he murmured, staring off into space again, completely lost in his own world even as the small space began to fill with thick smoke.
