“Alright,” Adela says, giving your shoulder a comforting squeeze, “this is it. Last round and you’ll win the pot.”

Adela watches expectantly as you try to focus. Unbeknownst to you, there’s a calculated look in her eyes. As you begin to roll the dice, you feel a sharp prick in your neck followed by a slight chill. Your body slumps into the table as Adela rubs your back. “Too bad you won’t get the chance to, dearest…” she sighs.

The next time you open your eyes, you’re in a dimly lit room.

“Wake up, dearie,” you hear a woman say sharply, the voice coming from somewhere outside your vision, “and stay awake this time.”
