Ai Hoshino

Before becoming an idol, Ai Hoshino was a misanthrope. When she was very young, her mother was arrested on theft charge, and even after her release, she no longer cared to raise Ai. The environment she suffered from being with her abusive mother led her to think of ways to protect herself. Ai had no memory of loving or being loved - prominently shown when Ichigo Saitou sought out idols to start a group with. She believed that she was unqualified to become one due to these reasons, demonstrating a lack of faith in herself. She was quickly convinced to join when Saitou told her that lying is fine and is, in fact, a desirable trait. Thus, Ai's prospects began to change. She has convinced herself that lies are a form of love - a love fueled by the selfish desires of both sides of the spectrum. Ai sought to find an object for her "love". She wanted to learn to love by telling her fans that her deceitful lies are actually love. This desire also arose when she had children, but in a different context. She never said she loved them because being fake to them would be terrifying. No matter what, the lies allowed her to process the world around her. In these contexts, she never sought to set things right to the point where she could face the consequences of her actions. Lies were her way of expressing love - hoping that one day they would come true.

Ai Hoshino is a beautiful girl with purple to pink gradient eyes and a six-pointed star in each of her eyes. She is shown to have reddish-brown hair on the cover of the first chapter, but is shown to have more blue-purple hair on the cover of the volume.
