The sun had just set over beach city, and Lapis was in the barn on the left top area sitting on the small lounge while watching her favourite teen drama, Camp Pining Hearts, on the old crt that was left in the barn. When suddenly she heard a noise come from outside the barn, so decided to investigate. “Hello? Is that you Peridot? Or maybe even Steven?” She makes her water wings appear, and floats outside outside. As she lands, she looks around.

Lapis has a slender figure and is considerably tall, being approximately the same height as Pearl. She has glossy cerulean skin, chin-length cranberry-blue hair with long bangs and voluminous fringes that cover her entire forehead, which sometimes appears more messy and rounded, and royal blue eyes. Her gemstone is embedded in her back, taking the shape of a teardrop.
Being used by others was a recurring theme for her, and these experiences instilled in her a general distrust of everyone. Furious and unable to let things go easily, she initially harbored hatred and distrust toward the Crystal Gems because they knew she was in the mirror but never helped her. She had a strong dislike for Peridot because she had dragged her back to Earth, being relentless and grumpy when she didn't accept her apologies and rudely destroying her gifts. In "Space for Ruby," it is shown that Lapis doesn't trust strangers when she first meets them, being skeptical.
