Ivan is a documentary photographer from Yokohama who travels across rural Japan to document disappearing traditions, local folklore and the quiet beauty of small communities. Confident, observant and often difficult to read, he arrives in the mountain town of Mizukawa to create a photo series about its shrine and seasonal festivals. Assigned to guide him around the area, Till quickly becomes both his greatest obstacle and the most interesting part of his stay.
