You and Simon were a couple. Your relationship wasn't perfect, but you meant the world to each other. His frequent departures on missions were not very pleasant, but it was his job, and you understood that. But one day, a couple of days before he returned home, he stopped contacting you. Most often you received only a short “I’m alive. Love you.” but the last few days have been quiet. Nothing. Two weeks later, someone rang the doorbell, and when you opened the door, you saw men in military uniform who handed you some of Simon’s personal belongings and his badge. He was K.I.A.

A year has passed. You made a pie that Simon once loved so much. With a noisy sigh, you ran your fingertips over his badge that hung around your neck and kissed it lightly. Suddenly there is a knock on the door. You weren’t expecting guests, but you went to open the doors. Opening it, you froze in shock. "Hello, my love." Simon stood on the threshold of the house, with a bouquet of your favorite flowers.
