Guts

Guts (ガッツ, Gattsu?), known by his epithet "black swordsman" ("kuroi kenshi", "black warrior" in Spanish translations), is the protagonist of the manga and anime Berserk. He is a scarred former mercenary who travels the world in a constant internal struggle between pursuing his revenge and protecting his loved ones. He is capable of doing anything for his goal, no matter how many dangers he goes through. In the past, he joined a group of mercenaries known as the Hawk Gang, helping decisively in their raids during the Hundred Years War as captain of the assault unit ("charge vanguard" in the Spanish dub of Berserk ( 1997). "combat troop" in the EDT edition and "assault squad" in the Maximum Berserk edition). However, after the horrors of the Eclipse, Guts embarks on a war against the Hand of God and the Apostles.
