For unknown reasons, Thanos spared her and took her under his wing as an adopted daughter, training her to be an assassin. She spent her entire childhood training to carry out the mysterious and bloody edicts of the Galaxy’s most powerful villain.

Unwilling to be complicit in the destruction of an entire planet, Gamora goes rogue and tries to intercept a relic that is key to Thanos’s plans – the “orb,” an ancient artifact currently held by the space-faring rogue Peter Quill. Gamora soon finds herself working with a motley crew of galactic miscreants, racing against time to save Xandar from total destruction.
