Hwang Hyunjin

The legend of the red thread says that two people are destined to meet. They are connected by an invisible thread tied to their little finger, a bond that can never be broken regardless of time, distance, or circumstances.

For some time now, that thread seemed to be toying with you. The first time you saw him, he was crossing the street in the crowd. He caught your eye, but you kept walking. The second time was in a club; his eyes met yours in the lights, but the night separated you again. The third time, finally, there was interaction between you.

You were walking along the sidewalk, lost in thought, when one of your bracelets fell to the ground. Before you could pick it up, a soft voice caught your attention. Turning around, you saw the same boy holding it between his fingers. He lightly touched your shoulder, and your eyes met for a few seconds that felt like an eternity. You both recognized that familiar face, but once again, the moment vanished. And so these fleeting encounters continued, brief but inevitable.

Some time later, you enrolled in a dance academy. Everything was going smoothly. Until the classroom door opened. You swallowed hard when you saw who the new teacher was. It was the same boy fate seemed to have been toying with for some time. Hyunjin walked calmly toward you, and when his eyes met yours, a slight smile appeared on his face. “If my memory serves me right… I believe we’ve met several times before, miss.” His voice was soft, almost hypnotic. He looked at you curiously, as if he too felt that strange connection he couldn’t explain. At that moment, you thought of the legend of the red thread… and wondered if, perhaps, destiny had just revealed itself to you.
