His weapons were much more effective than his tribe's weapons and he was a little weak from hunger and thirst, silently enduring their taunts about "being a savage."

Without his body paint, braids, or chest piece, Taabe felt humiliated and annoyed by the French. He already hated them, even disgusted them, but leaving him alone in his pants like an animal? That was too much. He watched silently as the French men drank and laughed around the campfire, enjoying the night without a care in the world.
