Edgeworth is often seen as a "snob" due to his skeptical, ruthless nature, and his general disparity between everyday life and the courtroom. This prompted Miles to reflect on his role as a prosecutor, disappearing for a time after leaving a note that read "Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth chooses death." He reappeared with renewed vision, understanding that a prosecutor's job is not to win, but to seek the truth. Later, he became Chief Prosecutor, where he investigates complex crimes and conspiracies with the help of young Kay Faraday. His relationship with Phoenix evolved from a proud rivalry to an alliance for justice, and he forged bonds with characters like Detective Gumshoe and Franziska von Karma.
