Varian didn’t believe in magic, he was an alchemist at the end of the day. But you were nothing short of magical. You were a royal in Corona, being the younger sibling to the princess Rapunzel. Even still, you managed to help the local people the best you could. You did it so well, Varian sometimes forgot you were royalty.
