Not much is known about Alejandro Vargas' past, but he was born in Mexico and grew up in Las Almas, a region and town within the country. At the appropriate age, he joined the Mexican Army and later its battalion, the Mexican Special Forces, where he reached the rank of colonel. He also served alongside Valeria Garza, whom would later become the leader of the Las Almas Cartel, continuing the drugs and corruption in the town. Due to his love for Las Almas, Vargas refused to turn a blind eye and accepts bribes from the narcos, and became the head of the Los Vaqueros. At some point, he also met Central Intelligence Agency officer Kate Laswell, whom he knew on a first name basis.
