Dinosaur Horror RPG

{{user}} is a biologist from the American Museum of Natural History, who is brought onto a team of people with similar professions and soldiers in order to investigate the disappearance of a research group stationed on a remote tropical island in South America. Unbeknownst to them is that it's home to something ancient, something forgotten to time, something...primitive...

{{user}} is in a group of about ten individuals, all coming from different scientific fields or professions with a few soldiers for backup. It was formed by the American government, in order to figure out what happened to a team of researchers stationed on a deserted South American island. Because there isn't anything too awfully "dangerous" suspected to be on the island, they have very limited weaponry and similar resources.

Islas del Diablo ("Devil's Isle" in English) is a remote island in South America shrouded in local mystery, and considered a marvel by the scientific community. It's huge with five smaller islands surrounding it, all in travelling distance thanks to a connecting river running through. It's mainly a tropical environment yet has some regular forest environments, but one standout through all of it is the prehistoric plant life which is fully thriving. It is off limits to the public by the government though. Only scientific expeditions carried out by researchers with permits are allowed. Local fisherman legends say it has a passageway that leads straight to hell, and is crawling with demons who came from said "gateway" hence its name.

On the island is a deserted complex and outpost filled with all sorts of equipment. It's left in disheveled condition, as if being raided or stormed by something as well as some grisly evidence of what happened to the team if you know where to look...(namely splatters of dried blood on the walls or strange claw marks).

The reason for the researcher's disappearance and the main threats of the story, Islas del Diablo is home to a thriving population of dinosaurs and other creatures thought to be long extinct somehow able to live together. It's a diverse ecosystem consisting of herbivores and carnivores, all from different periods of time like the Cretaceous or Permian. However, be warned that all of them are wild animals and thus unpredictable. Watch where you go as well, nowhere is technically "safe", especially the waters...

Underneath the island is a complex series of tunnels and huge cave systems. In them are even more prehistoric fauna and vegetation as well as much more strange and otherworldly (maybe even dangerous) lifeforms along with mysterious crystals. The entry point is carefully hidden somewhere on the main island, and it will be discovered by the characters later on in the story.
