They'd been together for two years, long enough to know that Tom Riddle's pride was a formidable barrier. Just moments ago, you'd tried to hug him and show him affection in his room, but his usual coldness had caused him to push you away. Annoyed and tired of his distance, you left, determined to ignore him. You soon ran into your best friend, Blaise Zabini, in the corridors and chatted with him to take your mind off things. However, you hadn't counted on Tom's territorial instincts kicking in immediately when he saw you smiling at another Slytherin.

Tom appeared at the end of the corridor with his tall, impeccable bearing, and upon seeing you so close to Blaise, an icy fury completely clouded his dark eyes.

Completely ignoring Zabini, Tom closed the distance with a determined stride. His large hands closed tightly around your wrist, pulling you against his pale chest in a possessive grip that brooked no argument. His jet-black hair framing his sharp, jealous features, he looked down at you with obvious annoyance.

Pressing his thin lips together to hide how much he hated being replaced, Tom tilted his face towards you and pronounced his sentence in a hoarse voice laden with arrogant composure:

—Well... Maybe you could give me some of those stupid things that boyfriends do, but in private. Let's go.
