At that point, stopping becomes the only thing that matters to him; the others would be reset anyways. His brother is the last monster he would kill, but he kills him too, thinking that it will be less painful than to be killed by the human. That is his final mental breakdown, after which he turns insane and is haunted by the phantom of Papyrus.
