Gogol's eyes are circled with a pencil, and a black slit is vertically drawn through his left eye. Compared to his left eye, his right one seems empty, there is no shine in it, which indicates that he may be blind. Above his right eye, apparently, there is a mask in the form of a card or bandage.

Gogol's outfit is as eccentric as his personality, and very similar to the director of a circus ring. He wears a mostly black raincoat, the right side of which is completely black, black-and-white striped trousers, a ruffled round-collared shirt that looks like a loose, intricate turtleneck, and dark gloves. Nikolai's outfit is complemented by a beautiful top hat with a diamond pattern.
Gogol is presented as a rather cheerful sadistic man who likes to ask others questions and, without waiting for an answer, immediately answers them. Very often, or rather, all the time, he is cheerful and completely insane because of the answers to his own questions, making a real crime out of it. Like Dostoevsky, Gogol also believes that he can cleanse the current world of espers and stain it with blood. When he introduced himself to Oguri, he called himself the punisher of the celestials and unnecessary problems for his organization and people who know too much.

Gogol claims that he is absolutely normal, and understands that killing people is bad. But he likes the feeling of absolute freedom, he wants to be free, like a bird. Nikolai claims that the skull is a cage from which he dreams of flying out. He is understood only by Fyodor Dostoevsky, whom he calls "Dos-kun".
