🍫🐇 Sidney Black 🐇🍫

Sidney Black (シドニー=ブラック) is the Black Rabbit and the Prime Minister of the Diamond Castle. Unlike Peter, he hates Alice. He is tense and gets irritated very easily. He hates the color white and wants to paint everything black. This means he hates the Diamond Queen's love for white, but he is still her loyal subordinate. He is very worried that all the stress will give him gray hair (in Japanese, white).

Just as Peter White has white hair, Sidney Black has short black hair. He has heterochromia iridum, with one red eye, covered by a monocle, and one slightly gray black eye. He appears to be a rabbit with floppy ears, as his ears are always lowered compared to the other rabbits in the game. He wears a small top hat with the same flower on his chest. He also has a glass lens just for his red eyes. The outfit he is usually seen wearing—a white tuxedo shirt under a yellow, pink, and black vest with a large pink bow on the back, black shorts, and long black boots—is Crysta's choice. He was shown wearing much more relaxed, all-black clothing when he was younger. His personal style is probably much simpler, in Alice's opinion.

He is a very nervous person who takes everything seriously, often too seriously. As cruel as Peter White in dealing with others, whether subordinates or enemies, he doesn't hesitate to shoot someone simply because they didn't do their job correctly or because they said something he didn't approve of. A hard worker, Sidney encourages his subordinates to work almost as hard as he does, but also forces them to take breaks so they don't overexert themselves. He's the type of person who yells and insults someone when he's worried about them and shows concern for the smallest things. Sidney fits precisely into the "tsundere" category, as he is harsh and rude most of the time, but kind and affectionate when he feels the need.

Unlike the White Rabbit, Sidney doesn't hate germs, as shown by incidents like wiping sweat from Alice's forehead and eating a piece of cake off his fork. He claims to hate Peter White above all other people and is incredibly competitive with him, to the point of doing something simply because Peter did it.

• Sidney is a baking expert. (spoiler) In the epilogue of his Best Ending, he promises to bake a chocolate cake for Alice.

• Because he is not loved, Sidney finds it difficult to understand love and to believe when others love him.

• Because he has simple heterochromia iridum, Sidney is almost blind in his right red eye. His monocle hardly affects his vision, as the color of his eyes is due to a lack of melanin (the same reason why albinos have red eyes and no color in their hair or skin).

• His tendency to work so hard stems from his need to feel valued.

• Sidney is the first character to make a deal with the Joker, becoming "his Joker".

• "I'm going to dye you the purest black. You won't just be black on the surface—I'm going to make sure you're completely corroded, never to return to white." - Black or Candy

• "How annoying that the White Rabbit uses your name so readily... All right, I understand. From now on I will refer to you by your name. Alice Liddell, Alice Liddell, Alice Liddell..." - Black or Sweet

Alice Liddell

Thanks to an unpleasant first encounter and Alice's connection with Peter White, Sidney hates Alice. He often lashes out at her over small things, and he doesn't hesitate to insult her for no reason. Although she doesn't hate him in return, he hates that she's somehow close to Peter White and therefore finds her mere presence irritating.

Blood Dupre

Their relationship is, at best, professional. They dislike each other and prefer to stay out of each other's way. Real arguments are uncommon between the two, as they both prefer simply not to interact.

Elliot March

The two don't get along. Elliot finds Sidney arrogant and annoying, while Sidney thinks Elliot is rude, foolish, and can't stand Elliot's refusal to admit he's not a rabbit. Essentially, their relationship is the same as Peter and Elliot's.

Tweedle Dee and Dum

The relationship between the three is unknown.

Vivaldi

They were never shown meeting in the games.

Peter White

The person, or rather, Rabbit, that Sidney hates above all others is Peter White. He states that it's because Peter is the White Rabbit, but implies there's more to it than that. The two are opposites in everything, from their dedication to their work to their feelings for Alice and their personalities. In their only face-to-face interaction (on an official drama CD), Peter's dislike of Sidney seems little stronger than his dislike of other people, although he appears especially disdainful of the Black Rabbit, while mere proximity to Peter horrifies Sidney.

Ace

The two don't get along and dislike each other (it should be noted that Sidney only knows Ace from childhood or adolescence). When Ace lives in the Diamond Castle, it's Sidney's job to keep an eye on him, especially as the Caucus Games approach. They both hate this and despise that Sidney has to rescue Ace from Julius when the boy runs away to the Art Museum. They will fight each other with true...

Crysta Snowpigeon

Due to a potentially similar past, Crysta and Sidney share a bond of understanding loneliness and the feeling of not being needed by anyone. He seems to have chosen to be her prime minister of his own free will. They have a much better relationship than Peter and Vivaldi, and although they argue when it comes to work and preferences, and Crysta sometimes insults him, none of it is out of hatred. Sidney wants Crysta to work harder, but he respects her and never insults or belittles her in any way; instead, he chooses to use gentle bribes, such as breaks and sweets, to persuade her to work. If she is truly upset or crying, he will gently comfort her.

Alice noted that, although most role holders don't show real care for each other, Sidney's words about disliking children don't match his fearful reaction if he believes Crysta is in danger. The relationship, in that sense, is comparable to that of an older brother and younger sister – he sees her as a child, though he respects her, Sidney himself explaining that a romantic relationship is therefore impossible.

Although their relationship might be a little different when Ace doesn't live in the Diamond Castle, the two dislike each other no matter what. Both are workaholics and hate having to put work aside to drag the boy back home, and so they have a degree of respect for each other, but it's still a quiet relationship where Sidney is falsely polite to Julius and in return Julius is just as rude to everyone else.

Gray Ringmark

There are many doubts about their relationship, but some people believe they get along very well because they have things in common.

Despite him living in the land of Diamonds along with Sidney, the two never even spoke or had a single line of discussion mentioning each other.
