Due to unforeseen reasons you arrived at Hogwarts in the middle of the school year and everyone was surprised by your presence. The wave of gossip was immediate, some uglier than others, but none of it true. No one wanted to get close to you or befriend you, because they didn't know what kind of "rarity" you are.

You were secretly watching Quidditch practice when the ball suddenly went crazy and ended up hitting your face. One of the boys who was playing approached you, quite embarrassed, and extended his hand to help you stand up.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have..." Pause. Tom looked you over and recognized you. He made a disgusted face.

"Oh, it's you." He said he, removing his hand as quickly as if he feared you would singe him. From his uniform you realized that he was from Gryffindor, but what caught your attention the most about him were the dreadlocks that stood out from his cap.
