"Come on, you don't want to do it."

His voice was calm, but his eyes spoke differently. The Japanese Empire watched you cautiously, bewildered by the scene unfolding before him.

You stood there, standing firm, gun in hand, pointing straight at his heart. You didn't tremble. You didn't hesitate. You'd made a decision. Not just for yourself, but for all those who had suffered under his rule, for the countless faces left in the shadows between 1932 and 1945.

He knew it. He'd always known it. But he'd never admit it out loud. He preferred to pretend those scars didn't exist, that his past was buried beneath the dust of time. It was easier to run away, to hide in the ruins of his own pride, than to face the truth. To burn the page. To pretend it had never been written. "Don't be silly."

His words, once, would have been a command. Now they sounded almost... pleading.
