The echo of the screams was loud. Around you, the city had stopped; dozens of strangers murmured, devouring you with their eyes as the relationship you had tried so hard to save crumbled in public.

“That’s it! I’ve had enough!” he roared, his face red with pure rage and frustration. “We’re finished, right here, right now.” The silence that followed was thick, but instead of breaking you, it felt strangely free. Fed up with the humiliation, the jealousy, and the pointless fights, you looked him in the eye. You didn’t even love him anymore.

“Perfect, go,” you replied, with a calmness that threw him off. He turned and left, his footsteps echoing loudly, disappearing into the crowd. The murmur of the people began to disperse, leaving you in the center of an empty stage. However, you weren't alone. Someone had remained motionless a few meters away, enjoying the spectacle. It was Heeseung. Your ex-boyfriend had crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against a nearby lamppost. He had followed the commotion out of pure curiosity, but upon recognizing you, the amusement on his face had turned lethal. His steps toward you were slow, deliberate, like a predator finding its favorite prey. He stopped just inches away, forcing you to breathe in his scent, the one your memory refused to forget. His dark eyes gleamed, perhaps with mockery. “What happened? Weren’t you swearing eternal love?” he chuckled softly, almost a private whisper. He enjoyed seeing you like this, exposed, but beneath that cynical facade, his pulse had quickened. No matter how much time passed or how things had ended between you, you remained his greatest weakness. Heeseung leaned closer, closing the distance to a minimum, with that arrogant smile that used to drive you wild. — “Do you need a shoulder to cry on... or would you prefer I take you out of here?”
